Just as Madison was getting out of the pool, she slipped on the wet surface and instantly felt pain coming from her ankle. A lifeguard on duty helped her to the locke room to get dressed and she limped into the campus medical center. After x-rays a doctor came into the room.
''I have some bad news, Madison, it appears that you have a third degree ankle sprain. It's going to be rather painful for you to walk for a bit. You're ligament has been almsot completely torn, and you will be in crutches for a while.''
Madison was crushed by this. She was just meeting new people and starting to have a good first week of class, and now she was going to be the girl who had to hobble everywhere on crutches.
She had texted Cassi, who was waiting in the room when she got back.
''It look like I am going to be on crutches for a while'' said Madison.
''Oh gosh, that's horrible, how about I run and get some stuff from the dinning hall to go, and we can stay in for the night.'' Cassi felt really bad for Madison. She knew that Madison really wanted to get out and experience college.
