When Cyrus had asked Princess Andaret about why she was so flatulent, she took a deep breath and said, "It is because I am actually one-quarter Ogre." Cyrus' eyes widened with disbelief. He replied, "Wait, what? You're supposed to be part Ogre?"
Andaret's appearance certainly give that impression - she looked entirely human, and exhibited none of the physical traits of an Ogre whatsoever. Andaret wasn't big or fat like an Ogre, and she did not have the pale, sickly green skin that was common among them. She also had long blonde hair that reached down her back and reached her buttocks, very much unlike the Ogres, who sported shaggy white hair, if any at all. Cyrus thought there was no way she could be even a little bit Ogre whatsoever.
As if she could tell what Cyrus was thinking simply by looking at him, she elaborated, "Allow me to explain during breakfast - I don't want the food to get cold." She then motioned to the guards, letting them know that had permission to open the door, and upon the entrance to the Dining Hall slowly swinging open, Andaret made her way to the head of the table positioned in the middle of the room. Before taking her seat, she pulled a chair out and told Cyrus, "You have my permission to sit here." The chair was on Andaret's left side, and not wanting to seem too rude, Cyrus accepted the offer to sit next to her. As soon as he had pulled his chair back in, he was greeted by one of Andaret's butlers placing an ivory platter that had some bacon slices next to a batch of fried eggs seasoned with light pinches of salt and pepper. Andaret's plate was similar, though instead of fried eggs, she had scrambled eggs with shredded cheese on top. Her eyes widened with delight at the sight of it, "Oh my - Sebastien, is this goat cheese?" The butler nodded silently, and Andaret looked at Cyrus with a large grin on her face as she told him, "Goat cheese is my favorite!" Cyrus smiled back at her, even though he couldn't help but wonder,
Andaret proceeded to take a few bites, and said with a mouthful of scrambled eggs, "So... What di thu wanna ask meh?" Cyrus looked at her confused and simply replied, "Pardon?" Andaret then took a big swallow, followed by a mild belch before she stated, "You don't think I'm actually an Ogre, do you?" Cyrus told her, "No, I do not, Princess - you do not look at all like an Ogre whatsoever."
"You don't have to look like an Ogre to prove that you Ogre blood, y'know," Andaret responded. Cyrus said back, "Well, I suppose that is true, but how is that possible? How can a member of the royal family have monster blood?"
Andaret took some bacon and shoved it in her mouth and started chewing. Afterwards, she took another large swallow and said, "I can explain that, but only if you really want to hear it." Cyrus nodded his head in response, as if to say, Yes, I do want to hear it.
In between bites of her breakfast, Andaret explained:
"See, it all started with my grandmother, the recently deceased former queen of Epula, being attacked by an Ogre on her way to one of our neighboring kingdoms - at least, she and the other knights believed that was the case. When they had taken the monster down, the Captain of the Royal Guard was about to end its life, when he heard the Queen shout 'No, stop!' as she ran towards them. In the chaos of the moment, nobody had realized that the Ogre was actually blinded, with one of his eyes ripped from its socket - he could not see, so he simply ran frantically, looking as though he was rampaging through the woods until he had reached my grandmother. Because she was a kind woman, she offered the Ogre some medical assistance, and in return, he would help the knights in escorting her to her destination. But that was not the last time they met."
Cyrus, still skeptical, asked "So, wait, your grandmother - the former Queen of Epula... she, she had SEX with an Ogre?!"
Andaret could not help but burst out laughing, "Haahahahaaa, that's hilarious! No, she didn't have sex with the Ogre." Cyrus then had a look of relief on his face, only for Andaret to continue, "...Well, at least not right away, anyway." And just like that, Cyrus was disgusted all over again. "Whuh-no, I don't-I don't believe that - would royalty like her sleep with a creature like him?!" Andaret paused for a moment before she looked Cyrus in the eye and said plainly, "Tell me, Cyrus, do you know how Ogres reproduce?" Cyrus replied, "I... I can't say I do, no..."
"They reproduce by sleeping with infertile women - Ogres have a special property in their genetics that allow them to bypass that barrier at the expense of being able to mate with one another. It is why many Ogres often attack women in the first place - they are desperate for offspring," Andaret said. After her statement, she lifted up off her seat slightly, pressing down on her left butt cheek as she let out a sharp fart.
BRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Andaret then sighed with a look of relief on her face as Cyrus simply sat there and stared at her, visibly put off, though not by Andaret's flatulence for once. He then said, "You mean to ell me that that monster violated her--?!" but before he could finish his thought, Andaret intervened, "No, it wasn't like that - he wasn't like that. He was a civil and kind-hearted Ogre, a rare breed to be sure, but he truly loved my grandmother so, and the two developed a bond together." Cyrus' expression of disugust and skepticism then slowly faded as he say that Andaret was being completely forward and honest with him. "But then," he muttered, "How could their child have been a Half-Ogre? I thought you said said that Ogres reproduce by way of sleeping with infertile women." Andaret let out another toot before replying, "Yes, but the conception of a Half-Ogre is one that comes from true love, not viscous, brutal hatred. Because the two loved each other as much as they did, they were able to have a Half-Ogre daughter - that ended up being my mom."
"Queen Stefanianna is a Half-Ogre?! I... I didn't realize..." Cyrus said in shock. "Now you know why she's so fat," Andaret snickered. "But wait," Cyrus continued, "How is that this is the first I heard of this? My father has never told me this before, and he is Captain of the Royal Guard." Andaret responded, "It is because he was worried about what the people would think if their Queen had had a child with a monster that he decided to help keep this a secret from the public, among everyone else within the castle grounds. As far as they people know, Queen Stefanianna was simply... well, big for her age."
"... So then, why tell me all of this if it's been a secret?" Cyrus said quietly. Andaret belched once more before she paused and thought about what she was going to say next:
