"They swapped her with another group earlier on to throw us off," she agreed. "Come, let's double back and see if we can find some clues on the way."
Retracing their steps south did not take long, and soon they found some possible routes which the goblins could have gone; there seemed to be cart tracks and the footprints of a larger animal which was pulling it, which headed to the east; a torn piece of fabric lay on the branch of a dead tree in the wolf forests; a cliff lay beside the road to the west, a track leading up into the mountainous region and a hole in the side barely visible from their position could be seen; finally, there was the lake path, which had goblin tracks leading to it.
