You decide to take your chance with the door labeled, "K". As you push the door open, you are bathed in a white light. There is a hazy mist that soon envelopes you and you find yourself coughing. Attempting to walk further into the room is difficult, as it feels like you are walking through toothpaste.
Rubbing your eyes, you slowly begin to wake up. Your room looks and feels different. Gone are all of your posters of boys, bands, and extra good looking movie stars. In its place are posters of princesses, and unicorns. Gagging to yourself, you roll out of your bed onto the floor. You nearly scream as you look yourself over.
You are no longer wearing your lazy day pajamas. Instead, you are wearing a pink nightgown that is covered in fairies. Underneath your nightgown, you feel something damp and uncomfortable. Lifting up the edge of your nightgown, you reveal a soaking wet Goodnite.
Tears fill in your eyes as you almost begin to melt down. How could this have happened? It was only a dream right? You attempt to make your way down to the bathroom before you are stopped by your mother.
"Good morning, sunshine," Your mother exclaims cheerfully. "Ready for a big day of fun? Guess who's coming over later!"
You have no idea how to respond, but judging by your mother's lack of surprise at seeing you, your only bet is to play along.
"I don't know, who?" You ask inquisitively.
"Your babysitter, Sarah!" Your mother shouts, as she reaches down and tickles you.
You begin to giggle furiously at your mother's assault. After several minutes, she pauses, and looks you in the eye.
"Did you have an accident last night?" She asks you, already knowing the truth.
All of the years that you have spent living with your mother have taught you not to lie. She has the weird power of seeing through you. You answer truthfully, and to your surprise she is not angry.
After you take a bath, your mother takes you back to your room where she has laid out an outfit on your bed. There is a pair of pink princess panties, a pair of overalls with a flower on the chest, and a blue and white stripe long sleeve shirt.
Most of your day is spent wandering around your house. Judging by the drawings on the refrigerator, you are enrolled at the local kindergarten. It feels so strange to be so young again, but you are doing a remarkable job of keeping calm and staying in character. Your last glimmer of hope is that Sarah will be able to help you when she comes over.
However, you don't know the best way to explain things to Sarah. Will she even remember that you two were best friends? Maybe everything will work itself out and today is just some weird cosmic anomaly. | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
