Upon arriving at their destination, Ryan looked about to find themselves facing a tall and powerfully build man in his early twenties who had apparently been waiting for them. "Welcome to Eligere Sententia boys boarding school, Master Carlson and company." he said. "I am Dr Thomas Vague; I'm glad that you could all come."
"Thank you sir." politely, Ryan said. "I was informed that we would meet a Juan Smith here."
"Juan Smith is having issues at this moment." struggling not to grin, Devon replied. "He decided to go after Eliza himself as she invaded his home and we were forced to... delay him."
Just then, a small girl, no taller than an toddler, appeared as if she were moving in a blur. She giggled, holding up a set of strangely shaped keys. "I still have the keys to his Anti-Gravity Transport, daddy." proudly, she said. "Juan is fun to play with, he's so hyper."
"Good girl, Sarah." smiling, Vague said. "Just play with Juan for a few more minutes then lure him to my office."
"Okay, daddy!" beaming, Sarah replied.
"Oh, come on!" came a frustrated voice from the hall. "Sarah, I need those keys!"
"You can't catch me!" giggling, Sarah yelled, vanishing in a blur like run. "You can't catch me!"
Juan sighed then paused seeing Chon. "Hey, man!" suddenly happy, he said. "When did you get here?"
"Just now." unimpressed, Chon replied. "You make it a habit to chase little girls?"
"That 'little' girl is fourteen, my age." smiling, Juan replied. "She's also my girlfriend." he then huffed. "I just wish she'd pick a different day to play games with me."
"Sarah was reduced to a toddler by Eliza as she though she had one of the rings." serious, Vague said. "However, she is still a witch and specializes in attribute spells."
"Like speed." grinning, Chon said. "Nice."
"Juan you are not going anywhere so please join us." serious, Vague ordered.
With that, everyone followed Vague down several halls, passed a number of classes to a pair large oak door at the end of one corridor where he suddenly turned to the group. "Beyond these doors is the office of the most powerful man on earth." he said with a hint of pride. "Devon Bizarre, twin brother to Elvira Strange, the head witch."
Just then, the door opened inwardly and a powerful voice called out, "Come forth and know me better!"
For a brief moment, Ryan suspected this Devon Bizarre had the same fear curse on him as Moriarty Strange but he sensed no looming threat, just an incredible power. Venturing in, they found a luxuriously decorated room with a huge desk with a massive man sitting in a custom built chair behind it. Devon was not obese, just unbelievably muscular.
"Tremble not at my presence." in a booming voice, Devon said. "You have no need to fear me."
"We are here regarding Eliza hunting down the last remaining pieces of the Pharaoh's rings." serious, Chon said.
"Ah, yes... the rings said to return a witch her powers or to grant a male powers of a witch." darkly, Devon said. "It was those rings who made what John Light Killer is today."
"Do you know more about that?" curious, Ryan asked.
Devon took a breath. "The Pharaoh's rings are like a puzzle." serious, he began. "They have to be placed in a specific order on the fingers for them to grant any power. The rogue council experimented on John, placing the rings onto his fingers in various orders in hopes of unlocking their secrets."
"The rogue council?" startled, Jenny asked.
"The Mafia of the witching world." serious, Devon replied. "We mad scientists have our own version, are known as the shadow tribunal." he sighed. "John managed to escape and destroy the place he was held in, the rest you know."
"They won't do that to me again..." trembling with fury, John muttered.
"Easy, bro." firmly but kindly, Ryan said.
"If you find Eliza first, she is all yours." looking John in the eye, Devon said. "Your orders are to secure the rings, we don't care what happens to Eliza, she was warned of the consequences of going after those rings."
