Sophie's mother enters the room. You cannot see her expression, but by the weight of her footsteps you can tell that she isn't happy.
"Sophie, where's Sarah?" she asks. Sophie presents you to her mother, who sighs deeply.
"Oh no, not this again."
"What?" you ask, surprised at her reaction.
"There's something about this house that shrinks certain people. It happened to your father, Sophie. There's no cure. I hope you're okay with being under two inches for the rest of your life, Sarah, because no power on this earth can help you," Sophie's mother explained.
"Why didn't you warn me?" you ask.
"Because it's extremely rare. We've had parties in here, and never had anyone shrink. You're the first person since Tom," she says, and then leaves the room.
"Well, that mystery's solved. What to do now?" Sophie asks, turning her attention towards you. You might be mistaken, but you think you see a malevolent glint in her eye.
What does she decide to do?
