May thought about it for a bit. As her mind began to wander, she opened her eyes and looked around the shrine. She wondered what kind of society could have built the ruins, what kind of society lived on this island before it became a resort destination. Maybe she could learn something interesting from this island, take something to share with her friends and family back in Hoenn, maybe even present her findings at the universities at Rustboro City.
"Well?" Jirachi asked.
"I think I'd like to go in-depth into the culture and history of this island," May said, snapping her fingers as she looked up. "I'm curious about this island's old culture. I'd like to learn about it, experience it myself through the eyes of history, you know?" She looked around at the shrine again.
"You got it," Jirachi said, the teal tags on its head shining. Jirachi produced a guidebook for May. "First cultural tour starts in two days. 8:30 AM. Don't be late. And," Jirachi continued, "how in-depth did you want to go with your little learning excursion?"
"All the way," May declared. "I want to pore through the island's ancient culture inside-out."
"Alright, done." Jirachi's tags glowed again. May felt something odd inside her, as if her heart had skipped a beat and her stomach had jumped. She shook off the feeling as Jirachi retreated into its encasement.
