It was a peaceful day in New Domino Heartland City, and several people thoughout the city suddenly found strange cards on the ground before them. And as soon as the picked them up, the cards emmited bright lights that engulffed the people, taking them to a different world where they would replace people there and take on their lives.
Yugi, who had been with his friends, was one of those people, and the light from his card engulffed him and his friends. Elsewhere, Jaden and his friends were in a similar situation, as well as Yusei and his group, and even Yuma and his friends. And they weren't even the only ones, as is happened to many people.
