You decide to help Rarity. Out of all your pony friends, she was the pony you were closest to due to your common interest in art; she liked to design dresses, and you liked to draw cartoons. Sure, your distinct interests differed from hers, but you two still had a connection as fellow artists. Sure, your decision to help Rarity over the others was rather biased, but you can't help it. Besides, she can be a nervous wreck when it comes to determining whether a dress is good or not.
You text Rarity back saying that you'll be on your way in a few minutes. You then text the others, saying that you won't be able to help them. It takes you ten minutes to walk to the Carousel Boutique. You knock on the door and hear some hoofsteps rushing to answer it. You smile at the mare that greets you.
"[Your name], darling!" she says with delight, giving you a hug. "I'm so glad you're here!"
"I was told you needed my 'artistic opinion' on some designs of yours," you say.
"You heard right," she says. She then proceeds to show you several designs that she came up with, and when she's finished, she looks at you with a hopeful look in her eyes.
"I think they're all really good, Rarity," you say, giving your honest opinion.
The white unicorn sighs in disappointment. "'Really good' just isn't going to cut it this time, [your name]," she says.
"Why?" you ask.
Rarity sighs again. "You know the school year is almost over, right?"
"Yeah..." you say, not knowing where she's going with this.
"Well, what event comes up every year at the end of the school year?" she asks.
You honestly didn't know the answer to that.
"The end-of-school dance, silly!" Rarity says.
"Oh, so I guess you want this night to be perfect, huh?" you say.
"Yes," she says, looking away from you.
