When she still lived in NY, Barbara Gordon was amazed that Batman kept her on his team after a year. Sometimes Barbara wished that she was stronger. He held out the bottle of the secret serum and said that it was a blend of orange/banana juice with an dose of an energy drink. Barbara studied his eyes and expression and decided to trust him. After all, her own dad already did background checks at that Crime Watch meeting. John had no crime records and came from a good moral family. So Barbara smiled and said ' Thanks, John. May I drink it now? I am rather thirsty'
She drank it down quickly and said ' Wow, that was really tasty and refreshing.....wait, I feel so much better too...Wait, is this something else too.'
John then backed up one step and said ' Well, it is nutritious but it should give you the power of a god.' If you do not believe it, try something out...either with me or in private.'
Barbara did not quite trust John just yet and said ' Do you mind if I try it out in private, OK?' John nodded, understanding her concern of safety. He said ' Ok, I need to head back anyway. But be sure to try a few things. The daughter of the city commissioner need to be safe here. This formula should guarantee that.' Then he left.
