The Kibble Tower loomed before them, a beacon of sustenance after their rigorous training. As they approached, they noticed something unusual: a large group of pups huddled around the entrance, looking agitated.
“What’s going on?” Lucky asked, his ears perked with curiosity. “I don’t know, but it doesn’t look good,” Rolly replied, his usual cheerfulness replaced with a hint of concern.They pushed their way through the crowd of pups
and saw the problem: the entrance to the Kibble Tower was blocked. Not by accident, but deliberately. A makeshift barricade of overturned kibble bowls and empty bags stood between them and their breakfast.
“What’s the meaning of this?” a gruff voice demanded. Lucky and Rolly looked up to see Buster, the largest and most intimidating pup on the farm he has a big fat belly but was very strong, standing atop the barricade,
his eyes narrowed. Buster was known for his territorial nature and his tendency to bully the smaller pups. “Buster, what do you think you’re doing?” Lucky challenged, trying to sound braver than he felt.
“We’re making a statement!” Buster declared, puffing out his chest. “We’re tired of the same old boring kibble. We want something… better!” A chorus of yips and barks erupted from the crowd, signaling their support for Buster’s rebellion.
“Better kibble?” Rolly scoffed. “What’s wrong with the kibble we have?” “It’s bland, it’s dry, it’s… monotonous!” Buster retorted. “We deserve variety! We deserve flavor! We deserve… gravy!” The crowd roared its approval, chanting,
“Gravy! Gravy! Gravy!” Lucky and Rolly exchanged worried glances. This was getting out of hand. Buster, fueled by the support of the other pups, was becoming increasingly unreasonable. “Buster, you can’t just block the Kibble Tower,”
Lucky argued. “Everyone’s hungry! There are pups here who haven’t eaten since yesterday.” “Then they’ll have to wait until we get what we want!” Buster retorted, his voice rising. “No gravy, no kibble!”
Rolly, who was usually the first to diffuse a tense situation with a joke, seemed at a loss. The hunger radiating from the anxious crowd was palpable, and Buster’s stubbornness was only making things worse. Suddenly, Lucky had an idea.
An absurd, ridiculous idea, but one that might just work. “Okay, Buster,” Lucky said, stepping forward. “We understand your demands. We agree that everyone deserves better kibble. But we think there’s a more… constructive way to achieve
that goal.” Buster raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite himself. “And what might that be?” “We challenge you… to a burping contest!” Lucky announced, his voice ringing with newfound confidence.
The crowd gasped. Even Rolly looked at him as if he’d lost his mind. “A… burping contest?” Buster repeated, his voice dripping with incredulity. “What does that have to do with gravy?”
“Everything!” Lucky declared. “If we win, you take down the barricade and we all get our breakfast. If you win… well, we’ll help you come up with the ultimate gravy recipe for the Kibble Tower.”
Buster considered the offer, a flicker of amusement in his eyes. He was confident in his own burping abilities, and the promise of a custom-made gravy recipe was tempting.
“Alright,” Buster said, a smirk spreading across his face. “You’re on. But don’t expect me to go easy on you just because you’re smaller than me.” “We wouldn’t want it any other way,” Lucky replied, a determined glint in his eye.
The crowd erupted in cheers, sensing that a resolution to their hunger was within reach. The stage was set, the challenge was issued, and the fate of breakfast hung in the balance. Lucky knew that he and Rolly were facing an uphill
battle, but they were determined to burp their way to victory, even if it meant going head-to-head with the biggest bully in the barn.
