Jessica was unconcious in a testing chamber, stable, and lying on an operating table.
Three scientists watched through the one way window.
"Are you sure we need a human subject?" One Dr. Opinhein asked.
"We need to see the largest animal the slime will attack." Dr. Rainfeld responded.
"I'm not sure about this. Sir." Said Dr. Jaqueline.
Dr. Rainfeld pressed a button. "Releasing slime now."
A door opened and an amorphus, blue, blob came out. It immediately jumped ont Jessica.
"Looks like it will eat humans then."
However, something was happening. The slime was responding strangely to the brainwaves of Jessica. You see, this slime was found hibernating, frozen in the arctic. It evolved to be adaptive and copy attributes of it's surrounds for survival. This colony only had the intelligence of the various animals it consumed. However, the brainwaves of a human were having an interesting effect. It was copying human intelligence.
Tired... I'm so tired.
Feed... Eat...
What!? What was that!
Eat you...
What? No! I don't want to die! I want to do more!
Do more...? Feed...
Do more than feed... Don't eat?
"Why hasn't it eaten the subject yet?"
"I don't know..."
"Wait, there it goes"
The slime assimilated Jessica's concious but her brain was adapted and became slime cells which dumped all it's information into the neuronlike mass, that held the slime's thoughts.
"Welp she's gone."
Suddenly, the slime reformed in the image of Jessica and she woke up. She woke up, and her more powerful conciousness took control of the body.
"Where am I?"
I'M HUNGRY!
"Who said that!"
HUNGRY.
The slime took back control and tried to escape, launching itself at the weakest exit, the window. Smashing through.
Dr. Rainfeld was the first one attacked. The slime devoured it. Dr. Opinhein hit the alarm, and ran, but the slime caught him and ate him too. The slime grew and Jessica was hit with a wave of euphoria.
Oh god! I just ate two people!
I'm not hungry anymore.
The slime had gained new intellegence and a humanlike conciousness, modelled like Jessica's.
You can have control again.
The slime reformed into Jessica albeit, quite larger than before. She looked at Dr. Jaqueline.
"Please don't hurt me!" Pleaded Jaqueline.
"I'm not... I don't what going on but I'd like to start by knowing your name."
"I'm Rebecca! Uh, Rebecca Jaqueline!"
The slime explained the situation to Jessica, Jessica explained to Rebecca, and Rebecca explained to Jessica all she knew about the slime.
"Security will be here soon, what are you gonna do?"
"I'm going to stop this project, can you help me?"
"Yeah, I hate this place, they've started so many dangerous and sometime inhumane experiments in here, none of them have yielded much anyway. I can go and delete all the data here."
"Alright, I'll..."
