The cafeteria was packed but Jonny was disappointed to see that some of his friends were all scattered, sitting with other groups of people. Cindy Wang looked at Jonny acknowledgedly as he passed close, before she continued her chatter with her band of gymnastic friends. Cassandra Nguyen was typing furiously on her laptop while James Middleton and Maria Miller was with her, seemingly simultaneously dictating what seemed to be their biology experiment and arguing with themselves. Good luck fellas, Jonny thought as he joined the snaking queue line.
''Soo... have you seen the others?'', Cassandra asked as she stowed away her laptop, James and Maria had already finished their lunch.
''Thought they're supposed to be away for that national challenge thing?'', Jonny replied.
''And J A'', James quipped.
''J A''?, Cassandra asked as she whipped out a cheese and salad croissant.
''Junior Achievement.''
''Oh...'', Cassandra bit into her croissant.
''Well, some are actually studying for the upcoming A Level exam, just for your information.''
''Robert!'', Maria exclaimed.
''Hey babe.'', Robert smiled and gave Maria a quick peck on the cheek. ''Move your ass Jonathan.'', aside from the teachers only Robert addressed Jonny in his proper name.
''Some of us are holing ourselves inside the library, literally.'', Robert grinned. ''Don't worry, you'll get your turn soon enough.'' He took out a bottle of cola, the fizz escaped as he unscrewed the top.
''Remind me what are you working so hard for?'', Cassandra asked.
''Chemistry, Biology, Math which is Statistics by the way, Physics, and French as a minor subject.'',
''Fuck my life dude.'', Jonny laughed.
''Oui mon ami, oui.''
''Oh, come on Robert, you're making me look bad here.'', James chuckled.
The rest of the conversation centered around the subjects and teachers and other bits and bobs. Although Jonny was quite happy to stay for a long time and chat until their next class, his new powers proved to be too tempting to ignore. After weighing the risk, he decided not to try it in the cafetaria, instead Jonny excused himself from the discussion and went to the nearest men's toilet.
''Well... Here goes nothing.'', Jonny sat on the toilet seat, eyes shut tightly as he willed himself to experience the sensation. Before long the sensation that he use to feel so familiar ages ago came back to him. The ethereal Jonny however looked to the seat only to discover that his solid form was not there anymore, just his bag.
''Gotta remember to take it sometime after... but first... who should get a first taste of my new power.'', Jonny smirked as he floated out from the toilet.
