"Man... this is such a drag," was the only words needed to express the moment.
Kira wasn't a bad girl, really, but she did have a habit of always being in the wrong place at the wrong damn time. It was always the same, just in different context or situations. Her real question was why. Why did she always end up being the one who was in the middle of the black hole that was her life? A soul sucking void in which nothing can escape.
Okay, maybe that was a little extreme, but it was close enough to her actual mind set at the moment. Kira was about 18, over six feet tall (which was hinted by her Brazilian heritage) with short, spikey hair dyed a silver-white. She was dressed in a simple black sports bra, the ones people usually jog in, and a pair of baggy, somewhat faded cargo pants. Camouflage, of course; and to set the look off? A pair of black combat boots and a black, fingerless gloves with a set of binoculars that hung from her neck.
She was also upside down, hanging from a tree by her boot straps about twenty feet off the ground. This was not how she had envisioned her Friday night. Nope, it should have been more casual, something involving pizza, a horror movie about aliens, and maybe someone cute to take advantage of- I mean, to cuddle. Hanging upside down from a tree was pretty far off from that, no? So, the question was raised as to why.
Simple: she was a bit of peeping tom (or would that be a peeping tabby?). She was always getting into trouble as a child for doing things that she shouldn't have and Kira wasn't the type of girl to lie about her feelings. Hell, she could care less about what others thought of her or is she came off as a half crazed nutcase. Her current prey- I mean interest, was in her fellow woman. A girl she knew from her school in fact.
Oh, sure, she knew them well enough to just go and ask for a sleepover, but that just seemed too girly for her. Besides, it would mean that her staking out of the place and finding the perfect place to peer into the windows from was worthless. No, she was happy with her choice...
Not so much with who had introduced her to this new view of the wolrd though.
She had crossed her arms for a moment to think, then exhaled as she readjusted her binoculars to see if she could maybe get still get a view of the window from her new, very headache inducing, location. Maybe it was blessing in disuse?
"Nope, not a damn thing," Kira sighed. Of course not, my luck was now and always be total shit, she thought. It was then she decided to find out just who the hell dared to kick her tree and ruin her plans for the evening. Oh, they would pay. Maybe in blood. Or teeth. Or maybe even in cash is they we unlucky.
Looking down for the first time since being upside down, she spotted her intruder. Then she paused, starring at them while they starred back. What was she looking at exactly? It seemed so foreign to her. It was...
