Ed's jaw almost dropped when he saw the sheer quantity of food stacked atop the platter dumped onto his table with a deafening THUD! Al almost couldn't bare to look. "...Tha-that's...quite a lot of food..." Ed stuttered, still in shock.
"Brother, maybe you should reconsider. Afterall, there'd be no shame in it!" Al pleaded from afar. However, Ed was determined to win that prize money, and if the FullMetal Alchemist can overcome raging Ice Alchemists, Homunculus, and Mustang's condescending attitude for more than six minutes at a time, then surely, a little extra food here and there was nothing! However, his currently swollen stomach gurgled angrily in disagreement, causing him to wince in pain briefly. But he regained composure, and immediately began to tear into the Pork Chops. Al turned away, fearful that his older brother was going to make himself sick.
After a little while, Ed slowly began to gain a little momentum, biting off huge chunks of meat from the chops, and gulping down hearty mouthfuls. One by one, the chops were stripped of their meat and reduced to a pile of bones on the side of the platter, and the larger the pile got, the larger Ed's stomach got. It had bloated so much that it had risen up and began to expose Ed's bare stomach slightly. Al eventually turned back to his brother, and much to his surprise, the stubborn elder Elric just kept chomping away. "C"mon, brother. You can do this..." said Al quietly and cautiously optimistic.
Finally, Ed finished the last pork chop and leaned back, with both hands clutching his bloated belly. Al looked back at him with concern. "Brother! Are you alright?"
"Ugh, yeah, just need to make a little room before I can finish the rest of this stuff..."
"What do you mean?"
Al's question was answered in the form of a huge, lengthy belch which erupted forcefully out of Ed's mouth. By the time Ed's burp came to an end, he smacked his lips, and patted his belly happily. Al's palm slammed into his metallic helmet of a face from embarrassment, while the other spectators reactions ranged from disgusted, to embarrassed uneasy laughter, to on the floor, laughing the sides off.
"Well, now that there's a bit of extra room, let's rock!" said Ed with a bit more life in his voice as he started scarfing down the mashed potatoes at quick pace. A good amount ended up on the sides of his lips and on the table as he just kept shoveling more and more into his mouth, despite his fullness. One hand rested atop his gut, which continued to expand ever so slightly with each mouthful of potatoes gulped down. Consolidating, Ed started to mix his veggies with his massive pile of potatoes to knock them both out at once, which naturally made Al uneasy.
"Ummm, Brother? Are you sure you're not trying to eat a little too much at once?" asked Al nervous for his brother's sake. Upon gulping down another mouthful, Ed sighed and said, "Sure it is! I'll knock them both out and get them done with sooner! Besides, veggies by themselves?! Noooo thank you..." responded Ed, causing his metallic brother to sweat drop with embarrassment about his brothers childish hatred for vegetables. And so, he continued to mix green beans, carrots, corn, and peas in with his massive pile of spuds, and then proceeded to take his spoon and wolf down as much as his mouth could fit, occasionally causing his cheeks to bulge out comically as he would gulp down hearty mouthfuls at once.
A few more minutes passed, and Ed's stomach had bloated up, with his shirt now exposing a good amount of flesh, only covering his belly button and up, exposing just how much food the young Alchemist had ingested. Finally, he had successfully finished every last drop of mashed potatoes and vegetables. Stuffed beyond comprehension, Ed burped wetly and groaned in pain as he began to massage his aching stomach, fully aware that he wasn't out of the woods just yet. The sound of another waiter approaching with yet another hearty platter of food caught the ears of all spectators.
Nervously, Al looked and said, "Umm, Brother? I don't think it's over y-"
"I KNOW, ALPHONSE! THANK YOU!" shouted an angry Ed in response. He slowly turned to see what he was up against, and couldn't help but whimper...
