About five bowls later, Naruto slammed his current bowl down, turned around in his seat, and leaned back, resting one arm on the counter, while the other rubbed his stomach. "Oh man, that was tasty!" Naruto exclaimed, burping a bit to emphasize this.
His stomach, filled with the contents of five extra-large bowls of ramen, had filled out accordingly; it pressed against the fabric of his shirt, forming a noticeable round shape under it. Naruto, looking down, noticed this and grinned. Heh...my gut's startin' to look a little bigger, too!
This was nothing new, of course: sometimes, when he'd eat at Ichiraku's, he'd completely eat his fill, leaving his tummy somewhat swollen under his jacket. He'd always been somewhat fascinated by this, but it had always vanished after an hour or two.
His hand ceased its ministration of his belly, and wandered to his pocket, where his overfilled wallet was being kept. His eyes gleamed as an idea occurred to him. He had off for a few days, and he really had nothing else planned...
This in mind, Naruto spun around in his seat, grinning at Teuchi. The man blinked, somewhat confused. "So, uh, Naruto...you done?"
"Done?" Naruto repeated, patting his stomach. "I've just gotten started! Get me the biggest bowl of miso ramen ya got; ya know, the one usually meant for a buncha people!"
Ayame's eyes widened. "A-are you sure? I mean, that might be a lot, even for you..."
Naruto grinned, squeezing his eyes shut. "Eh, so what if it is? I'm not doing anything for a few days, and besides, I love a challenge!"
Shaking their heads and smiling at the antics of their number one customer, Teuchi and Ayame went about preparing Naruto's request.
In short order, a truly massive bowl of miso ramen was set before. It took up a great deal of the length of the counter, and stood about three feet tall. It was filled to the brim with broth, noodles, and a few other toppings Naruto liked. Eyes gleaming, he licked his lips, grabbed his chopsticks, and dug in.
