"Hey, do ya mind if we sit here?"
Naruto blinked, his chopsticks inches from his bowl. He turned around, eyes widening a bit at the sight before him. There, right in front of him, stood Kiba, arms folded and lips quirked in a good-natured smirk. The other boy, having had the day off, was clad in rather casual clothes appropriate for the weather; specifically, a pair of light-blue pants and a dark green, v-necked t-shirt with red lining the neck and a picture of a cartoony dog face on the chest. From atop his head, Akamaru stirred and barked a greeting at Naruto.
"Oh, hey, Kiba. What's up?" Naruto asked, turning around and fixing the dog-nin with a smirk of his own.
The brown-haired boy shrugged. "Eh, Hinata's trainin' with Neji and Shino's collectin' bugs, so me and Akamaaru figured we'd get a bite to eat." He indicated the seat next to Naruto. "Which brings me back to my question: you mind if we sit here?"
Naruto blinked again. "H-huh? Nah, I guess not."
Kiba smirked. "Thanks, Naruto; you're a pal." Striding over to the seat, he plopped down and raised an arm. "Oi! Can I get an extra-large ramen with beef?" His eyes flicked towards the top of his head. "And, uh, maybe get a small one for Akamaru, too." The dog yipped in thanks, tail wagging.
Teuchi blinked in confusion-only an Inuzuka would order for a dog-but he nonetheless turned around and began preparing Kiba's order.
Kiba grinned and licked his lips as the smell of noodles, broth, and beef wafted into his sensitive nostrils, and he couldn't help drooling just a tiny bit.
"Oh yeah," he muttered, not caring if Naruto, now slurping up his own noodles, heard him. "This is gonna be so good...and this is only the first one!"
At this, Naruto gulped down his current mouthful and looked over at his friend in confusion. "Eh? First one?"
Kiba grinned. "Yeah! I've got a ton of money saved up from missions, and I figured, since this is my day off, why not go wild?"
Naruto stared at him, the stirrings of an idea beginning to stir. "And...how many bowls were you planning on getting?"
Kiba laughed, patting his currently flat stomach. "As many as I can cram in my gut." Akamaru rolled his eyes, but nonetheless kept quiet.
Naruto smirked. "That right?" He patted his pocket. "Well, I've saved up a ton of money, too, and I was planning on getting at least a few bowls." His smirk turned competitive. "You up for an eating contest?"
{/i}
Kiba blinked, surprised. "Eating contest?"
Naruto grinned, patting his own flat stomach. "Yep! I figure, we eat as many bowls as we can, and whoever loses has to pay!"
Kiba sneered. "What, you think I'm paying for your stupid ass?"
Naruto bristled slightly at the insult, but his expression quickly turned cocky. "What's the matter, Kiba? Afraid I'll kick your ass like I did during the Chunin Exams?"
Kiba narrowed his eyes, baring his teeth. Oh, it was ON.
"Oi! Old man!" Kiba raised his arm. "After you finish mine, keep on making 'em for both of us, and don't stop till we can't eat any more!" Teuchi, blanching a bit at this, nonetheless went about his work, setting Kiba's first bowl in front of him, as well as a smaller one for Akamaru. Then, he went right back to work, preparing more bowls for the two boys.
Kiba glared at Naruto, split his chopsticks, and began digging into his bowl. Naruto, who only smirked, dug into what was left of his, even as Teuchi set another bowl down by him.
Akamaru cringed, even as he hopped down from Kiba's head and began working on his own bowl. This wasn't gonna end well, he knew it...
Where do you wanna go from here?
