Chapter #4Breaking the silence in the library by: Unknown Rainbow Dash landed next to the Ponyville library. She was looking forward to this! She knocked on the door which was promptly opened by a small purple dragon. "Oh, hey, Rainbow Dash, what's up?" Spike answered.
Rainbow Dash glanced past Spike to see whether or not Twilight was within hearing distance of their conversation. From the doorway, Rainbow Dash could see Twilight sitting at her favorite desk. It didn't look like she was within listening distance and she seemed too wrapped up in the book she was reading to pay attention to what was being said, but Rainbow Dash kept her voice down just to be safe. "Spike, you know that... 'present' I gave you for your birthday?" Rainbow Dash smiled.
"The dumbbell?" Spike asked.
"No, no, the other one. The one I gave you when Twilight wasn't around." Rainbow whispered. "You know, the one where you pulled my hoof."
"Oh, right! That was awesome, Rainbow, I still laugh my tail off thinking about it," Spike chuckled.
"Me too," Rainbow Dash concurred with a grin.
"I still can't believe anypony could have that much gas!" Spike recalled.
"Well you better believe it. Because I've come to do the same thing to Twilight and this one is gonna be even better!" Rainbow Dash boasted.
"No way!" Spike gasped in disbelief.
"Spike! Wasn't there someone at the door a minute ago?" Twilight Sparkle called.
"Yeah, she's still here! It's Rainbow Dash!" Spike shouted back.
"Oh, I can't wait to see the look on Twilight Sparkle's face!" Spike quietly mused as he followed Rainbow Dash.
"Ssh," Rainbow Dash shushed him. Even though she agreed, she didn't want to ruin the surprise.
"Hi, Rainbow Dash," Twilight warmly greeted when she entered speakingdistance. Twilight used her magic to get a bookmark to mark her place and shut her book as she turned around. "What brings you here?"
"Oh, everyone else was busy and I was in the neighborhood so I figured I'd drop in," she answered.
"You mean I'm not busy?" Twilight asked, shooting a glance to the mountain of books on her desk.
"Oh, right, sorry." Rainbow stammered.
"It's alright," Twilight assured. "Is there anything you want to discuss?"
Rainbow Dash's stomach began gurgling yet again as if to remind her why she was there. Twilight didn't seem to hear it, however. Rainbow made a contemplative expression as if she didn't have any specific reason for coming over. "Well there is one thing..." she began. She extended her front right hoof. "Pull my hoof," she asked. Spike, who had been standing behind her during this conversation, moved in front of her and stood next to Twilight as soon as he heard Rainbow Dash ask this.
Twilight Sparkle hesitated. "What on earth is that supposed to accomplish?" she pondered aloud.
"Just pull it," Rainbow impatiently urged.
Twilight reached out with her front hooves to pull it. Right before her hooves made contact with Rainbow's, she quickly withdrew them and asked, "Is this some sort of trick?"
"Even if it were, why would I tell you?" Rainbow Dash dryly interjected. "Anyway, I asked Spike to do this and he liked the, um, 'end result' I guess to speak Twilightese."
"Spike, is this true?" Twilight asked, giving her assistant a puzzled look.
"Yeah, Twilight, you'll love it!" Spike assured.
Twilight Sparkle finally gave Rainbow Dash's hoof a gentle pull. This was immediately accompanied by bombastic flatulence. Rainbow Dash's fart was so noisy it shook the walls with such force that books fell from shelves. When the incredibly long fart finally came to an end, Rainbow Dash and Spike gave each other a high five (or, rather, a high hoof and high claw) and laughed at the unbelievable amount of gas Rainbow had. Twilight, on the other hand, had a much less favorable reaction. In addition to the sheer force of the fart causing her library to become disorganized, the air in the library was thick with the stench of Rainbow Dash's fart.
Rainbow Dash plotted her next move. On one hand, she thought staying would be fun. At least Spike seemed to be enjoying himself almost as much as she was and the shocked expression on Twilight's face throughout the duration of her fart was priceless! On the other hand, she knew this probably already put her on thin ice with Twilight and part of her didn't want to ruin their friendship completely just because of her love for fart jokes.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
