Chapter #3

Eight College Students

The air was abuzz with wildlife such as bees, birds, and other various fauna that had started coming back to Philadelphia along with the Spring months. Spring had always been my favorite season; not too hot and not too cold, but just the right temperature on all days.

It was a bright and sunny day and a few of my housemates and I were at a flea market. Philly always had really good flea markets, because of all the unique, crazy, and just plain weird people who lived there.

I should probably give some backstory. Ny name is Theo, and I major in business at the University of Philadelphia. I was in my second year and live with seven of my friends in a house pretty close to the college.

Isaac had been my friend since childhood. He lived right next door to me, and we had always been inseparable as kids. He was tall, muscular, and had blue eyes. He was quiet, but when he talked he always said something funny.

Scott was the maniac of the group; he never thought before he acted, and was a total party animal. He had dark black hair and a bunch of tattoos, with ever-present stubble on his face.

Tyler was a ladie's man; he always picked up girls, and was a handsome guy, so it wasn't any surprise there.

Danielle was my on-again off-again lover. We both liked each other, but she always said she was waiting until after college to start a relationship. A curvy brunette, I planned to ask her out the minute we graduated.

Ellie was a petite girl who always wore sweaters that were way too big on her. She was a total hipster, always taking pictures of everything, and had pretty much been in charge of decorating our house, since none of us really cared much.

Kaitlyn was adventurous and easygoing, and very funny. We were good friends despite not talking very often, save for the nights when we stayed up late smoking pot and having deep conversations.

Kristen was a shy girl who only really talked to Isaac. I didn't know much about her, but she seemed nice.

Tyler found a deck of cards and asked the person how much it was. The man smiled and said, "For you, free."

It was only later that we realized this wasn't a normal deck of cards
