You were a former soldier from Tathys. You served there with honor and distinction for many years, but unfortunately, money was not easy to come by.
It was with a heavy heart that you left your home country to set off on your own, sending stipends to your ailing family still on the island nation. You reasoned to yourself that there was no other choice. It was either stay and starve, or leave and lose what little sense of honor you had left. Still, despite you being perfectly okay with your decision, there was still some regrets. You never got to speak with your old friends again.
Princess Caeda came to mind. She has been on your mind for many months, as a matter of fact. She was one of the few who reached out to you and attempted to help you with your financial situation, although in the end it was fruitless. You were still on good terms, however. You and she even sent letters occasionally. Both of you knew each other for years.
Never in all your years did you expect to come across her in the middle of a battlefield, though.
You were employed by the Archanean Empire, and led a small band of mercenaries against the armies of Marth and his League. You heard of the man and believed in his cause, but the allure of gold was too much. In the end, though, the one person who could save you revealed herself.
Caeda came upon your group upon her pegasus, effortlessly defeating every single one, including you. When your helmet was knocked off, however, she stopped.
"You!?" Caeda began incredulously, holding her Wing Spear close to her. "What are you doing here, among these ruffians?"
"I told you in my letters, remember?" You grumbled, rising to your feet. "I can't just leave my family to starve, my lady. And the Archaneans pay."
"So it is gold that sways you. Yes, I remember," Caeda sighed, "I should have known. You need not fight with these dastards, though. Marth is a good man. You could fight with us! We have enough gold to pay you. I know you're a skilled warrior."
You had to fight the urge to join her and her love then and there. "I wish I could, Lady Caeda, but would you really accept a turncoat into your ranks?"
"We have several among us already. But should you need more convincing..." Caeda turned herself until both her legs were on one side of her pegasus. She kicked her feet about, clearly trying to get your attention with them. "When this battle concludes, we can partake in that little ritual you so loved to do."
You felt your cheeks heat up at that. It was true, while you were in Tathys you and Caeda had an odd relationship. Her heart belonged to Marth, as she made abundantly clear, but she had her own ways of getting what she wanted out of people. It only took her a few weeks to suss out your foot fetish, and when she had, she willingly indulged it. Those days seemed so far away, then. But with such an opportunity to live them again right in front of you, well... Who were you to say no? The gold would be your main priority, but who said you couldn't enjoy it.
"A-Alright," You finally said. "I will join you."
"Excellent!" Caeda smiled, knowing you were under her spell again. "Fight alongside us, and I will fetch you when the battle is over."
Your blush didn't go away for the entire battle.
