"John, honey. Wake up. We're going to go garage sale hunting today!
No kid wanted to hear that first thing on a Saturday morning. Heck, no kid wanted to hear that on any morning. But there you were, sitting in the backseat of your family's car heading for the next 'big sale' that your mom's garage sale sense picked up on.
"Look at all this stuff we got, all for under ten bucks too!" your mom shouted from the wheel of the car.
"Ugh." you replied.
You were still half asleep despite it being almost lunchtime, hopefully this was going to be the last stop before your mom finally got bored and stopped for lunch. She wasn't a bad person, your mom, she was just a bit excitable most of the time, quite the opposite of your dad who people said you took after in personality.
While you had a dull brown hair brown eyes combination for looks, your mom had a more vibrant scarlet red hair color complete with matching emerald green eyes. She relied heavily on her bubbly personality to get noticed in a crowd, partially because compared to everyone else in your family she was incredibly short, standing at a small five foot one. She was also slightly overweight over the years, but most of that fat had went straight to her thighs and breasts.
"You alright, John? You don't seem that interested."
"There's nothing to do..."
"Nothing to do? Come on, don't you think this is fun?"
"Fun would involve sleeping...You know, like most guys my age get to do on the weekend?"
Your mom pouted slightly. She was always one to care for everyone's feelings, no matter how annoying she got. "Alright then, tell you what. I'll loan you some money for the next sale we find so you can buy whatever you want. Sound good?"
"Sure, whatever."
That seemed to satisfy her enough as a new sign caught her attention. "Nice! This one is going to be right on the way home!"
The vehicle swerved sharply to the right causing you to jolt from your seat. After hitting your head against the window you opened your eyes to a yet another lawn covered with tables and junk with several old people looking around. This garage sale looked like it was going to be the worst one yet, there didn't appear to be a whole lot of stuff to it and most of it seemed very dated. You certainly weren't going to have any luck finding a new iPod here, which was something you had been wanting for awhile.
"Meet me back at the car when you're done looking around." said your mom as she got out to join the other old bargain hunters.
