Transformation in a world of wizardcraft and witchery
This choice: Go to class.  •  Go Back...
Chapter #4

Go to class.

    by: Unknown
Despite your wet clothes, you decide to go to class. You couldn't miss it. You were now about to hit the good stuff, after a few weeks of theory now was the week of practice. You couldn't wait, a little bit closer to your dream. You sprint away, going through the castle's hallways. Actually it was a bit bigger than a castle, or at least the castle in the neighborhood of the orphanage where you grew up.

You liked how big the place was, there was so much to discover. It also made sure you could try to avoid people. People like Vadicus, you still don't know how he found you that morning. You were sure nobody saw you sneaking into the toilets. But when you were done you still walked into Vadicus with that smile on his face. It wasn't that pretty.

You opened the door to your class; everyone was seated already. Even your professor was here already, professor Walmut. But everybody called him professor Nut, his beard was in the shape of a nut. Everyone asked him why he had done that, but he just said it was an illusion everyone had to know by the end of the year. The first year was more based on illusions and a little bit of soul tinkering.

"Mead sit down." Nut just said not looking away from his textbook. You hoped to avoid his glance, but it seemed he just knew it. You watched as everyone stared at you when you walked by them. You sat down in the back of the class; it was the only spot left.

"Good, now since everyone is here, Nut looks at you, we can begin the lesson. In the first few weeks we all discussed the theory which I think is good enough. But the college thinks we should practice too. Nonsense, I say, better you go out and try it yourself. Best wizards are made that way."

"But since it's been decided for me, I'll go along with it." Nut just sighted. " Now I want to see what you can do." He said.

Everybody was looking at each other, they thought Nut would show them and they just copy.

"So who's going to get first?" Nut said impatient.

Nobody said anything, you wouldn't want to go either.

"Well since nobody volunteers, I'll pick one." He travels down the aisle as he looks at everyone's faces. Then he stops at you. "You Mead, show us what you can do."

You looked at him for a second, then he snaps his fingers and the chair disappears, being replaced with a stool. You were just sitting at the front of the chair, so you fall down your butt. You stand up quickly and hurry to the front of the room, you heard rumors Nut would cast an illusion on unwilling students who were too slow, being chased by a dragon was not that attractive to you.

As you stand in front of the class you wonder what kind of illusion you should create. There were different types. There were for examples area illusions, which would make the surrounding area into something else. Or object/people illusions, which would make objects or people appear. People illusions were even capable of getting a personality. And then replace illusions, to disguise something as something else. It would be even more difficult than normal illusions, as you had to hide the original. You wonder what kind of illusion you had to go for. Or perhaps you could show them the bit of soul tinkering you studied. You decide on...

You have the following choices:

1. Area illusions

2. Objects/ people illusions

3. Other illusions/ Soul tinkering.
