Chapter #6

Before the game

The rest of the day was just a mess of your feelings. Fortunately Luke doesn't join your History class and you don't see him the rest of the day. But you know, that you've a date with him after tonight's hockey game and you've to clear up the situation.

In the teacher's lounge you meet a strange old man whom you've never seen before.

"Ah, Miss Thompson. Nice to meet you. I heard only good feedback about you. But you're looking a little bit stressed."

You don't know why but you've the urgent need to tell him your situation:

"Well, I'm really stressed. I try to be a good teacher, an idol for my girls in class and a good girlfriend. I wish to become pregnant but my boyfriend isn't still ready for it. Therefore our relationship is in a break. Then I've this amazing student, Luke. He's a nice guy, smart and good looking but he had bad luck when his father died in an accident a month ago. He's not the same person as before and today I tried to talk with him and he said everything and show his feelings. But he has a crush on me and he kissed me and I haven't really opposed his kiss."

The old man nodds: "Life is quite difficult, Miss Thompson. What do you think actually?"

"I've to go to the hockey game tonight because Luke wants to talk after it and I've to clear up the situation. Well I really wish to help him and give him a timeout of his life but I don't know how."

"Well do you need a timeout too, Miss Thompson?"

"Hmm, yeah! Sometimes I wish for it but I'm an adult and I've responsibility."

"Listen, Miss Thompson: I'm an old man and I've seen a lot of persons. I'll give you this ancient amulet. And maybe it fulfils your wish for a timeout."

You feel how the old man hangs the amulet around your neck but then he's suddenly vanished without a trace.
