Her phone rang as she picked it up. Looking at the caller ID. It was someone she didn't know. Hitting the receive call button, she answered...
"Yes? Tina speaking..." she said.
"Oh yes hello! This is Ms. Balkman speaking. I got your number from your mom when wlI met her earlier. Are you busy?" asked Ms. Balkman.
Tina knew who she was. She was a single mother in her mid- thirties. She had medium lengthed hair. She had two kids who were paternal twins, a boy and a girl who were 3 years old. Tina remembered them going to their birthday party a while back. Tina didn't really know much about them other than hearing stories from her mom. Ms. Elaine Balkman worked at some buisness club. Tina wondered what would be up.
"No, I got nothing to do, Ms. Balkman. Why?" Tina answered as she heard her mom and dad fighting. She would know that Tom would have his headphones on or something. Hoping to get away from the drama.
"I was hoping you would babysit these two. Do you mind?" Asked Elaine. A bit nervous in asking.
"Sure thing. Its not like I have anything else to do." said Tina.
"Good it best you come now. I know about what could be going on with your family." Said Elaine.
"Okay.." said Tina as she heard the phone cut off. Changing to a light blue turtle neck sweater over a white tank top with black mini skirt and flip flops. Tina was stunning compared to her simple twin brother. She grabbed her bag and her other thing such as driver's license and her wallet. She went into the kitchen where she saw her mom sitting on a chair with Tom comforting her. Seeing Tina, thier mom smiled.
"Going somewhere honey?" asked thier mother. Tina knew she smiled just show them that there wasn't any problem but she knew it was their drunk father.
"Have a babysitting job. Be at Ms. Balkman's place." Tina said. As she kissed her mother's forehead. Thier mother grasping her hand and rubbing it.
"Take care of yourself. Enjoy your job since I heard her twins are quite a handfull." Thier mom said as Tina nodded and smiled. Tom held her back to say something to her.
"I'll take care of mom. Just ignore dad." Tom said as Tina made her way out. Thier father saw her and yelled,
"Where are you going? You just finished high school and your doing something rebellious?" Tina sighed, trying to hold back yelling back at him. She turned and said,
"Have a babysitting job for Ms. Balkman. Be gone the weekend most likely." Their father yelled.
"Well at least you got a job! I can lay off the expenses on you two." He said as he slouched on the couch, sipping on a can of beer. Tina murmured to herself as she exited their house and to her small car. She drove to Ms. Balkman's place which was a block away. Ms. Balkman greeted her at the door.
"So glad you could make it!" Elaine smiled as she took Tina in. She introduced her twins which were named Simon and Sierra. Tina thought they were just like her and Tom at thier age. Very hyperactive though. Elaine explained the rules as Tina took them down. Elaine looked to be dressed for an occasion as she heard a honk of a taxi outside.
"I won't be back till Sunday. They should be too much since they're identical to you when you were younger." Elaine said as she giggled. Tina whose long black hair which she tied into a long ponytail. She smiled.
"No problem. I can handle it. Enjoy yourself!" Tina said as Elaine made her way to the taxi and it sped off. Tina locked the door but had her hands full with the twins. They made a mess and asked a lot of personal questions. It was past 9 as they were in pajamas. Simon being white and Sierra being pink. Tina sighed as she tucked them in.
"Why do you ask so many questions?" asked Tina as Simon answered.
"We do that to all mommy's visitors." He said.
Sierra followed, " Especially to guys!" Tina only giggled as they fell asleep. She watched tv a bit while laying on the couch. Tina soon drifted into a sleep but not without thinking.
"I wonder why they say they are different. They are just like any other hyperactive kids. Just rumors maybe." She thought as she dreamnt of pregnant women.
