Chapter #10

Greeting with a goth

    by: Trampltrum Author IconMail Icon
"Wow, there certainly are alot of people here..." Arisa muttered to her new friend as the pair shuffled in line, grabbing food and placing it on their trays.

"It only looks that way because they are so FAT" Marissa thought to herself, glancing at her new companion though made her keep that thought to herself. Arisa was the only fat friend she had ever made, and she seemed really funny and cool, last thing she wanted to do now was get in a tiff with someone she had to spend a whole year with anyway.

As the pair made their way along, Arisa grabbed almost everything she could get her chubby hands on, piling er ray higher and higher with every delicious food she could recognize, and some she didn't, her recent good fortune put her in a good enough mood that she wanted to try new things. As they ended the line, Marissa looked at the tower Arisa had built for herself, geez it was alot. But unknown to her, Marissa had picked up quite a substantial amount herself, the sheer size of Arisa's takings had caused her to tell herself that what she had wasn't that bad.

"So Ris, where do you want to sit?"

"Uuuuh" Arisa glanced around, there didn't seem to be alot of spaces left. Oh! Wait, there was a girl at the back sitting on her own, she should surely want company right? "That one, the girl dressed in black"

"Umm, Arisa, she kinda looks like a goth..." the stunning blonde tried to point out her concerns to Arisa, but the comment through right over the tubby girl's head. Waddling over she set her tray down in front of the loner, causing her to jump.

"Hi! I'm Arisa, this is Marissa! We're new here!" she said, introducing herself as Marissa followed in her wake, "What's your name?"

"Um...Cerys Porter" the girl replied slowly, removing her head from her palm. Her voice was like a cross between a Valley-Girl drawl and a growling wolf. Arisa looked Cerys up and down, she had never seen anyone like her before, well she had spent most of her days at middle school with her nose buried in a book.

Cerys was slim and dressed in almost all black, save for some vibrant-eyesight assaulting pink patches. Her leggings were criss-crossed with straps attached to metal hooks, little diamonds of her alabaster-white skin showing. A small ruff circled her waist like a tiny useless skirt. She wore a leather top with traps running around the waist, seemingly working as a mini-corset, with a ruff-like bit of material around the neckline. Her arms were dressed in a similar fashion to her legs, but the material was more flowing and loose. Her neck had a spiked collar (Arisa was very confused by that article). Her hair was long and black like Arisa's, but with an odd sheen to it that meant it was possibly dyed that way. Her lips with pitch-black along with her long claw-like nails and some spiky makeup around her eyes, and as she spoke Arisa saw even her canines looked a little fang-like, this girl sure was spooky!

Settling herself down a little further from Cerys, Marissa started tucking into her food. Arisa meanwhile instantly started talking about herself and trying to get as much info out of Cerys as possible.

"...so that is how I met Marissa here. She really hasn't spoken much (she turned to face her stuffing companion) com'n be nice Marissa" Swallowing hard, Marissa meekly waved at Cerys.

"Eh, I can't blame her. Nobody has wanted to even sit next to me, let alone talk to me" Cerys lazily noted.

"Awww, why?" Arisa asked.

"Ummm, if you can't tell. I'm a goth, not exactly well known for people skills or being too friendly", Cerys gave an exaggerated eyeroll. "Or that's how everyone thinks of me anyway".

"Well, I came up and talked to you" Arisa meekly responded. Marissa, sensing this girl might not be quite the goth stereotype she appeared, joined in too.

"Yeah, we both wanted to talk to you!"

"Thanks" Cerys actually smiled, something she had not done since the pair started talking to her. "You know, I have been here a while, Sophomore and all, you two being new and everything. You might appreciate a few tips"

Leaning in, the pair of rich-girls listened in.

"Firstly, over there. The lady in the gym gear, that is Coach Knight, nasty piece of work apparently. She got fired or something years ago, but is back now. She HATES the students here, try to keep out of her way. And over there, the ball-shaped girl and her three tag-along's, that is Grace Sawyer. If you want to go un-bullied while you are here, keep away from her. And the skinny brunette, that's Hannah Hammond, I don't know why she scares some people here, but it canNOT be good". Cerys went on about various small shortcuts and best places to go in town. Eventually, the three girl's were chatting like firm friends. All the while, Arisa and Marissa made their way through their respective piles of food.

The room then went silent as a rather plump woman with long blonde hair ascended to a podium, she wore an elaborate version of the uniform Arisa had been issued, but far smaller.

"Welcome one and all to Buttercombe Academy for girls! I am Headmistress Polluck and it is my delight to see you all here.."

"She gives the same schpeel every year" Cerys muttered as Ms. Polluck went on about determination, hard work and studies.

---

"....and with that. Thank you!" Ms Polluck had ended her speech with a round of applause from teachers and students, as she made her way down from the podium and out a backdoor. At this sign, all the girls seemed to rustle around to either get to the doorways or make good on the ceremony-dinner before they were booted out.

Stuffing one last blueberry muffin into her mouth, Arisa heaved herself up, her belly becoming quite the heavy counterbalance, and made a hurried waddle after her two new friends. As they reached a crossroads, Cerys spoke up.

"I am in room 237 down this hall, if you guys need me give me a buzz alright?", Cerys gave a quick thumb's up as she smiled, walking off to her own dorm.

Turning to Arisa, Marissa spoke in an excited tone.

"I overheard that there is some killer party going on in like a few hours, wanna join me?"
