To both of the girls enjoyment, Aubrey went right to work on the gift basket, absentmindedly chewing on this and that, asking Hannah question after question about the school; Yes, Hannah supposed it was a bit weird they were so far from the city, No, none of the teachers here were particularly mean, Yes, there was sometimes a ton of homework, No, there shouldn't be a problem being finding where Aubrey's classes were when she did sign up for them later...and so on, and so on...Hannah found her jaw was working just as hard as Aubrey's were.
Aubrey all the while seemed to have no problem snacking while asking about the academy, having grown quite famished from lugging her luggage this way and that. But, even as Hannah watched Aubrey politely nip at the cinnamon roll (apparently saved for last,) she couldn't help but melancholy measure this girl against her previous pudgy pals.
They wouldn't have bothered for such neatness, no, they would rip and tear as fast as they could into the baked good quickly moving onto the next crawler to crunch or doughnut to devour (well at least Hannah's favorite friends would.) And instead of a lush, plush, bunddonkadonk butt, this newbee's behind barely put a dent in the couch cushions....*Sigh*
As before and after images of roommates from years past continued to flicker in and out of her mind, Hannah (half listening) noticed that Aubrey's barrage of questions were coming to a finish, as she was licking the last bit of frosting from her finger and lips as she finally finished the large cinnamon roll.
"And...I'm just really glad you're nice, I'm probably asking like *lick* a million annoying questions. I...just really want to fit in is all." she finished now wiping herself dry with a napkin. "I'm sorry you must think I'm a pig for eating that whole basket, but I was starving! Thanks...by the way."
From what Hannah could tell the newbee seemed to be a bit weighed down with all the woes, oddities and excitement of a coming to a new school, along with fitting in with her peers here. Nothing to out of the ordinary or exceptional. *Yawn* Wait a minute...this girl...Aubrey...had emptied the entire gift basket! Sure it had been over an hour or so of gossip, but still the girl at least had the capacity to put food away. (Much like those no good skinny hot dog eating champions both male and female who starve themselves for half a month to win a competition and never seem to put on a pound!) Either way the girl had not yet fully earned Hannah's attention, put she did have her curiosity. Hannah, still a bit disheartened that her roomie this year would be at a great weight disadvantage towards her obesophile fantasies, admitted that this girl had shown a gleam of gluttony albeit unintentionally...
"No problem," said Hannah nonchalantly and now opening a soda for herself, her throat a bit dry from so much explanation. "Now that we're both comfy...why don't..."
