Find her mother and show her first!

Miffie decided to show her mother. She knew her mother would be only too willing to allow her the bounty of her hard work after showing her first. It would also show that Miffie had restraint.

Darting outside with a flap of her wings, Miffie took in the fresh air and bustling town life. Waving to some friends, she continued on her trek to find her mother.

Ducking underneath a cow's tail as she flew towards the market, her eyes widened as she saw her mother up ahead.

It wasn't her mother's appearance, for she looked the same as always.

No, what caught Miffie's eyes was the fact that her mother, renowned mage the world over, was openly flirting with the elven baker of all people, Liana Clovus herself!

And was that a blush she saw on her mother's face?!

Was...was her mother tired of being single?!

Sure, there had been brief jaunts with men and women over the years, but they never lasted. Partially due to Kara's traveling duties and partially due to Miffie's efforts. She did not want her mother to find a lasting relationship because then, she knew with a certainty, then she'd be left alone, bereft of both mentor and mother in one fell swoop.

She's seen it happen to a number of the town children when their single parents found love again.

Her blue cupcake lay almost forgotten in the light of the flirting taking place before her eyes but soon enough Miffie shook her head.

She had to show her mother after all.

"Mother! Mother! I did a conjuration spell!"

Kara turned her attention to her daughter as she fluttered in front of her face.

"Did you know? And I notice you don't have any frosting on your face so you must have controlled yourself. Show me the results of your spell honey."

"Sure thing!"

Kara bid the baker goodbye and soon enough mother and daughter were back home, Miffie inwardly crowing at this.

Watching her mother, Miffie's heart felt like it would burst from her chest, such was the joy she saw in her mother's eyes.

"So...how did I do?"
