Relative Games

    by: Unknown
"Just what kind of game is this?" I asked nervously.

I could sense the speaker smiling on the other end. "Oh, think of it as a scavenger hunt. One that may require a small amount of boldness on your part." The speaker paused, allowing me to savor the tension.

"And there are other players, you see. In fact, one of them wants to speak to you."

The static-like effect disappeared, and I heard a familiar voice on the other line.

"Bro! It's a trap! Don't do anything they-" It abruptly ended with a muffled sound.

But there was no mistaking it... it was my sister!

"What have you done to her, you son of a bitch?!" I shouted, half-enraged and half-frightened.

"Tsk, tsk," muttered the voice, still distorted. "Why, it turns out this game needs multiple players. You're the star attraction, of course, but think of her as a prize. If you do as we say, then you will see her soon enough. However, if you break the rules, then she has to pay the price. And don't worry, we'll keep you well informed of the situation, at every step. In fact, have a look at your cell phone now."

The familiar buzz of my smartphone alerted me to its presence on the kitchen counter. I lowered the kitchen phone's receiver, and carefully approached my cell.

True to the sinister voice's word, there was a picture. It was grainy and poorly lit, but it was obvious of who it was... my sister! It was her face, blindfolded, with her mouth bulging with some sort of packing. Clear plastic tape was wrapped around her mouth, sealing the gag tightly.

I shook my head, running back to the kitchen phone and shouting, "Don't lay a finger on her, you bastard!"

Once more, the voice tsk-tsked me. "Perhaps not a finger. But maybe a feather?" I blanched at the thought. My sister was as ticklish as I was, and judging from the situation, it may be akin to torture for her!

"But that was just a teaser, young man. For you see, there are two other players: your mother, and your cousin."

My cellphone buzzed again, and I knew that pictures of my relatives were being sent... almost certainly bound and gagged like my sister.

I didn't even have a chance to speak before the voice answered.

"And so, now the game begins. Your decision must be made now... who will you save first?"

I gulped, and made my choice...

You have the following choices:

1. My sister

2. My mom

*Noteb*
3. My cousin

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
