"You have to go outside and play in the sprinklers," Jane said with a grin.
"But someone might see me!" Yuki protested.
"Wet, naked, and outside," mused a girl named Rebecca. "Jane, you are brilliant."
"Aren't I just? But yes, Yuki, someone might see you. On the other hand, they might not."
Yuki looked outside. It was pretty dark out, and by this hour everyone would be either inside and watching tv or sleeping. "So I just have to run out, get wet, and come back?"
"No, you have to play in the sprinklers," Jane corrected. "For, let's say, twenty seconds. I have a watch, and I'll time you."
"Is your watch waterproof?"
"Yeah."
"Then why don't you let me borrow it and I'll time myself," Yuki said, not feeling trusting.
Jane slid off her watch and handed it to her, and all of them went to the front door. Yuki tried to steady herself. Come on,you can do it, just--Jane spanked her butt. "Go get'em!"
Yuki bolted out the door and into the sprinklers. The water was cold and gave her goose bumps. No one was out, so in just twenty seconds.
"You go girl!" Jane shouted.
"Shake it, baby!"
"Ow ow!"
Darn it! Yuki should have known that her friends would make a scene. She checked her watch. She still had ten seconds left. Lights started coming on in the neighbor's house's, and people started sticking their heads out their windows. She rolled around in the grass and hopped around like an idiot.
"What is going on over there?" she heard one of the neighbors say. "It doesn't seem decent."
"Wow, she's pretty. Does this happen a lot here?"
"What I wouldn't do for a camera right now."
Five seconds left. Four. Three. Go faster, you stupid watch! Close enough. It would be twenty seconds by the time she got back inside, and she was the one keeping time. But she got to the door, she found that her friends had...
