Chapter #7

End of the Day

You are surprised to discover that the next class is the last one of the day. It was a pretty short class as well, in under an hour you left the school, perched on Zenth’s shoulder.

"Is it always like this at your school?" you ask Zenth.

"Huh?" he replies, turning his head towards you. "Umm, yeah! The class after lunch is always the last one. Is it different in your world?" You laugh, nodding your head. "Well, we don't have giant bipedal animals walking around in broad daylight. School hours are also much longer." A look of embarrassment appears on the dragon's face. "I meant besides that. You really enjoy messing with my mind, don't you?" Grinning in response, you lay back on the giant's right shoulder, exhausted.

“So where exactly are we going now?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Zenth replied. “We already decided you would stay with me as long as you were here, and I’m guessing you don’t want to sleep out on the streets. So we’ll stay at my house!” This time you were the one with an embarrassed expression. “R-right, that’s what I would have guessed.”

After laughing at your forgetfulness, the dragon turned right onto a road lined with houses. Putting aside the scale, the houses looked just like the ones you saw every day in your town. It was still hard to believe that everything here could be so similar, yet so different. Zenth broke into a jog, interrupting your thoughts. The sudden movement tripped you up, causing you to fall off his shoulder. Fortunately, you grabbed onto the colossus’s shirt sleeve before you could fall 500 ft. onto the concrete sidewalk. The part of Zenth’s shirt you grabbed wasn’t too far down from where you fell. It only took a matter of seconds to climb up his enormous right bicep. Panting, you pull yourself back up onto Zenth’s shoulder and plop down, so that your back was to his neck. The dragon feels your movement and stops, turning his head to look at you.

“Are you o.k?” You feel his neck muscles tensing against your back; it’s obvious that he’s worried.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks for stopping though.”

The anthro’s huge blue eyes scan over you, checking for injuries. You know it’s a sign of concern, but it still sends chills down your spine. The sight of a humanoid dragon with dark scales, who’s head was bigger than your entire house, staring directly at you with huge pale eyes that almost looked like moons. In fact, his head was so close to yours that it was only possible to see one eye. It reminded you of the giant, fearsome dragons you've seen in storybooks for children. You almost expected him to lunge out at any moment, filling your vision with his pitch-black face.

“Anyway, I’m glad you’re not hurt, I’ll try to walk slower so you don’t fall again. We should be at my house pretty soon.” Zenth continues walking through the neighborhood, though you’ve noticed that he’s slowed down now. After another minute or so, you both come to a fairly large house covered in blue paint. “It looks like we’re here!” Zenth exclaims cheerfully.

From within the house you hear…

You have the following choices:

1. Nothing. It must be empty.

*Pen*
2. Multiple voices talking to each other.

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
