The sound of an alarm clock making an odd noise rang through the small room, finally getting through to Ash's head. The youth took a few seconds to wake up properly, before the sunlight being filtered by the window and curtains finally reached him.
“Sun...light...?” he muttered, before blinking. It was bright; way too bright for 6AM. And one look at his clock showed it was at least one hour later than that point. “Wait a second... but that means ”
Throwing the covers away, Ash got himself out of bed, nearly tripping on his broken clock. He opened the windows as fast as he could, taking one look around. The sun was already past the mountain range to the east, quite visible in the sky.
“I'M LATE!" he yelled out, before heading downstairs. Not even breakfast was laid out there anymore – he had definitely overslept beyond usual! "Stupid dreams! Now look at what happened!'
Ash didn't even realize he was still wearing his green and yellow pajamas as he ran down the road, at full speed. “Man...! I just wanted to have a nice last dream before I get my first Eromon! Why did I need to have such stupid dreams?" he groaned, thinking back about what he could remember of that strange dream. Of course, it was just as bothersome that, out of all his friends, he still wasn't one for wet dreams and was really bad at coming up with those, but...
His thoughts were interrupted by an elbow hitting him in the face.
“OW!" Ash yelled, as he fell on his butt. “What gives?!"
“Get lost!" replied a girl in white and blue, who was also running as fast as she could. She turned her head to glare at him. “I'm already late and I can't lose this chance!"
“Late, too, huh...?" Rubbing his injured nose, Ash got back up, ignoring the dirtier appearance he currently had. “Well, I'm not gonna lose to a girl!"
As he ran after her, they could both see a crowd of people forming ahead. There weren't that many options for them to go through the crowd, if they wanted to go to the Professor's laboratory. Walking around them would take even longer, very likely, and maybe he could just push his way through, but...
