You had no idea finding a target to test your body switching machine on would be this difficult. Though it was understandable, you'd be giving the person your life so not only did you need to find someone you wanted to be but also someone you could trust with your life and body. This is what ruled most of your family out, Kyle looked almost exactly like you so you didn't want to be him, nor could you trust him. You didn't want to be either of your parents but you could trust them. Even though she was your sister you were curious about being Erika but you couldn't trust her. Outside your family you didn't really know anyone else.
This is why you were considering neighbours or school students. You wouldn't be able to trust them and they couldn't trust you but you could use that to form a mutual partnership and ensure both parties were on their best behaviour. The problem was you didn't know them and they'd have access to your inventions, including the body switching machine, so they might not want to switch back and you didn't know the life you might get stuck with.
As you were pondering your decisions, you noticed something odd on the console, it indicated that one of the pods had been activated and it was waiting a second user. You looked at both pods and saw that they were empty. You had designed them to seal when someone entered them so no one could leave mid activation. They'd stay sealed for at least ten minutes and if no one entered the second pod then they'd release.
Given that both your pods were open and empty you waited ten minutes to see what would happen. When the ten minutes were up the console went back into idle mode but a minute later it indicated it was waiting for a second user.
