As you continue your scribbling on Pythagorean theory you notice Lilith shimmy in her chair next to you a little, then lean a little... shimmy some more. Is she edging closer to you for some reason?
The she leans over and her shoulder presses against you. Your heartbeat rises and you turn looking up... and stare into her eyes just as they look back into yours.
"H... hi." she says, stammering slightly "I'm Lilith."
You blink. Why is she nervous? She's the bombshell here, you're just a nobody!
"Uh, yeah. I heard." you say, nodding to the teacher. "I'm Alex."
You shake hands with her and she smiles sheepishly. It's odd, there's a smoldering look in her eye when ever she looks at you... but she seems so nervous. What does she want?
There is an awkward pause when neither of you is talking then there is a sharp 'Ahem!' from the teacher and you both turn back to your work. For the rest of the class both of you occasionally turn to glance at each other and you could swear you catch her blushing one time. The class goes on for a while, but eventually it's over and you and she get up to leave with the other kids. Then, just before leaving the classroom she turns and pats your side.
"See you later Alex." she says, and you get a few jealous stares from your class mates.
If they only knew they'd be more jealous... 'cos you're pretty sure she just put a note in your pocket!
You head to a bathroom before next class and pull the note out to read it.
I know we don't know each other but I'd really like to see more of you and I do need a friend here.
Can we meet tonight out a mile south of the school gates on the main road? I'd appreciate it.
