"Don't be a fool!!" Peltan bluntly stated to the overzealous Thumb.
"We don't stand a chance against an actual army of giants!! Besides, there are just 5 of us and there could be dozens of them!! We can still do good by stopping the leader!!"
"Thumb is right!! We need to stay and defend these people!! If we set up traps and fight cautiously instead of defensively, we can take them all out!!" The team was shocked when they turned to see Akakio desiring to stay. It was kind of out of his comfort zone for stuff like this.
"I w'nt to 'elp them out, too!! But. . . we g't lives at stake!! It ain't just 'bout us anymore!! It is about all of us!!"
The team turned to Raenok.
"I. . . I think. . "
In his mind, Raenok agreed that it was best to stay and defend. He wouldn't let the selfish commander doom all the people he had known. As he dwelled on it, though, he remembered his dream. It was so strong. He could. . could hear her. She was calling him. He had. . to see her. Had to. . be with her.
"We need to see the beaut. .. err. . kill the. . giantess. It is what, has to happen."
After a little more discussion, the team reluctantly agreed to leave the village. It wasn't an easy decision, but in the hands of Elan, Braegale, Charlee, and all the others, Raenok was sure that his hometown would survive. It had too.
The ragtag team of misfits began their journey carefully through the Forest Keep. The lands of the giants was dangerous, normal sized things were about as big as the beasts were. Spiders, animal, and other monstrosities could destroy entire platoons of troops if not dealt with properly. And here, they only had each other to rely on. Raenok was most concerned. As they traveled, his dreams continued. The giantess queen promised him happiness and a place by her side if she betrayed her allies. He wondered if it was something he should bring up with his crew.
