Percy and Jason made a bet. Who could gain the most weight in a month. It was stupid, but they were bored and had time to waste.

Percy knew his fast metabolism would mean extra work for him, but Jason was fitter to begin with. Neither told their girlfriends the plan. It was bonus points if you got your Annabeth or your Piper to notice.

The war began at dinner. Annabeth didn't question Percy's three meals in one. He'd done that one or two times before. Jason could barely stomach a second.
