Chapter #3

Little Lalita

    by: Doom Author IconMail Icon
“To be caught in such a compromising position by the radiant princess is no happy situation for this little monkey,” Sheldon finished.

“Are you still going on about that?” Raj said. “You haven’t seen her for years! I knew her throughout her childhood, she belongs to me!”

“Then by all means.”

Raj gulped as he turned toward Lalita. She was indeed resplendent, currently wearing sumptuous clothing Bollywood would have been proud of, but also taller by far than the greatest statue of an Indian goddess that he had ever seen. Her toe alone could break all four of them beneath it.

“Er, no, she’s all yours, Sheldon.”

“Hello? Is this the residence of Doctor Sheldon Cooper?” Lalita trilled. Her voice was musical and beautiful, but at its current volume was not appreciated as such by the four inch tall men.

“Guess that answers the question of why she’s here,” Leonard muttered.

“Not so,” Sheldon countered. “That merely answers the question of whom she’s here to see. We have yet to discover why she wants to see me face to face. I provided her with my e-mail address if she wished to continue correspondence. Why didn’t she use that?”

The goddess seemed to be getting anxious, hopping from foot to foot every few moments, giving the boys plenty of motivation to give her a wide berth.

“It must be important,” Howard said. “Perhaps it’s time for the little monkey to climb up and see his princess fair, huh?”

“Climb? Me? I don’t care for it,” Sheldon said.

“You’re right, the monkey is hardly bold enough to risk himself just to put the princess’ mind at ease. Why, he’s better off skulking in the shadows until she’s gone, run away crying.”

“Fine. Fine, I’ll try. But you’re all coming with me.”

“And where exactly is it that we four monkeys should be climbing, Howard?” Leonard said. “I don’t know about you, but I forgot to bring my mountaineering gear with me.”
