Andy led you down to the clothing part of the mall, along with Robin and the others. Looking at all the clothes in the girls' section, you felt a whole host of feelings coming over you; fear, awkwardness, and a bit of..... curiosity?
"Okay," you grumbled, "let's get this over with."
"C'mon," Andy said with a reassuring squeeze of your hand that he was still holding for some reason, "it won't be that bad. See how the other half lives 'n all that."
Easy for you to say, you thought. You seem to be enjoying this.
You spent the next few minutes grabbing clothes you hoped you wouldn't feel too awkward in. Mostly jeans and t-shirts, but Andy insisted you needed at least one dress to really get the girl experience. It was blue, and came to your knees. The really weird part was underwear though; it took a lot of work to get a bra on (though you weren't sure why you even needed it.)
Looking over at Tom, you felt bad for him. Even in girl's clothes he couldn't disguise his large masculine frame. Still, you hoped for his sake people would just think he's a fairly muscular girl. Robin and Harry fared a bit better, looking like they might pass. What really surprised you was Andy: to complete his blonde look he was now wearing a pink blazer with a white shirt underneath, paired with a short pink skirt to show off his smooth legs and matching pink heels he somehow knew how to walk in perfectly.
"I know I look good, guys, but that's no reason to drool." Andy said, and you indeed caught yourself with your mouth agape. Looking around, you noticed the others were staring too.
"Sorry, just wasn't expecting you to be so good at this." Robin stammered out. "Have you done this before?"
Andy laughed at the question, but there was something underneath the laugh... Nervousness? "Well, I think we should choose our new names now."
"New names?" Tom balked. "What for?"
"Well, I ain't ever heard of a girl named 'Tom' or 'Harry', have you?" Andy replied.
"Fine," Tom growled, "call me Tammy, then. That good enough?"
"I guess," Andy sighed.
"Then I'll be Harriet," Harry decided. Robin, on the other hand, insisted his name was gender neutral already.
"Well, my name's Juliette," Andy explained, "At least it's original. What about you?" The group turns to you.
"Uh, Tonya I guess?" you say.
Juliette shrugs. "Your choice. So... Now what? It's getting pretty late, we could call it a day... or go grab some pizza as girls!"
"Nuh uh," Robin grunted. "I'm going home. I've had enough of this for one day." Harriet and Tammy agreed, and began to leave.
"Well," Juliette exhaled, "guess it's just us then. Girl date?" The way he (she? They?) smiled made you wonder how platonic that was meant.
You scratched the back of your neck. You would like to put off meeting your parents like this as long as possible, but something about 'Juliette's' excitement for all this girly stuff was making you feel a bit nervous. What if you started to like it too?
