Nate shifted in his seat for a twentieth time that past hour, wondering how much longer they were going to make them wait. He and his family were in the waiting room of a lab run by the government, where they were going to perform some sort of growth experiment on Chris. To be honest, Nate was a bit jealous that Chris got this opportunity. The scientists said something about needing someone who hadn’t started puberty yet and some other criteria, but all he knew was that Chris was getting the opportunity to grow pretty big.
“How big are we talking about?” His dad had asked.
“We estimate his final height will be roughly seven feet high and three hundred and fifty pounds in lean muscle mass.” Dr. Burks answered.
“Is there any danger?” Their mom placed her hands protectively on Chris, though Chris was much more excited and enthusiastic about the situation than his parents were.
“No ma’am, we have tested it thoroughly.” Dr. Burks reassured her. “We made sure that his heart and other organs would handle the growth. By the end of the process, Chris should be the healthiest person on Earth.”
That last bit nailed in the deal. What parents wouldn’t want their baby to grow up big and healthy?
And now they were waiting for the scientists to finish whatever they were doing with Chris. Although Nate was a bit envious, he was also a bit nervous for Chris as well. Chris WAS his little brother after all.
