Hermione Granger was currently alone in the Gryffindor common room reading her favorite book, “Hogwarts, A History”. However, she couldn’t help but be sad; Hermione has been at Hogwarts for one full month and she has yet to make a real friend. As she was thinking on this, she heard someone come in the Common Room. She turned and saw it was Harry Potter, who she met on the train to Hogwarts but hadn’t really talked to since then since he was always with Ron Weasley, who didn’t like her at all. Hermione then deiced to get back to her book. She didn’t notice that Harry was walking towards her.
“Hermione, can I ask you something?” asked Harry.
“What, Harry? I’m in the middle of reading my favorite book”, replied Hermione.
“I was wondering if you could help me with my homework. I-“, started Harry.
“Is that all I’m needed for?!” Hermione began to yell. “Everyone doesn’t want to get to know me, to be my friend, but as soon as they need help with homework, they come to me as if we were friends! Well, I’m sick of it. I’ll help you, but in return, you’re going to do something for me, got it?!”
Harry was scared by this point. “Y-yes Ma’am”
“Ma’am? I’ve never been called that before. Okay, from now on, you don’t call me by my first name; it’s way too informal for you.”
“Yes, Ma’am”, Harry replied immediately. He didn’t understand why he was following her orders so easily. It felt so natural.
“Okay then. Let’s get started on that homework”, said a thinking Hermione. She felt a power rush when Harry called her ma’am and agreed to be more formal with how he calls her. With some gentle pushing, Hermione was thinking she could have Harry be her willing slave in no time at all. Who needs friends when you can have the Boy-Who-Lived as your obedient slave?
After about an hour, Harry’s homework was done.
“Thank you so much, Miss Granger! You’re a lifesaver!” replied Harry.
“You called me Miss Granger this time” said a surprised and happy Hermione.
“Well you told me not to call you by your first name”, said Harry although it made him think. Why exactly was he following her orders so easily? Why did it please him so much to follow such a simple order from her?
“I see”, said a very excited Hermione. “Now as for our agreement, you must do something for me.”
“What is it, Miss Granger?”
