"If you say "I do" at the same time, it will still bind your souls. The minister will ask "Jacqueline Rosemary Driscoll do you take this man ..." Since he says your name, it means the real you in my body," Terri explains. "It doesn't matter what I say in your body, it matters what you make the body you have say."

Jackie makes Terri's face smile, and she brushes the tears away. "Oh, mom, that's right. Thank you so much for saving this day." Then the two embrace. You are bit stunned and confused but also now feel good inside knowing all is not lost.

"I'm sure you can pretend to be me," Terri says with a wink. "And I can be you until after the reception. Then we can all get together and figure out where we go from there."

"OK, Mom."

"You better start calling me Jackie, Mom," Terri winks at Jackie.

"Yes, my little precious," Jackie giggles as Terri often does when she uses the pet name for Jackie.

"This will be so much fun. I can't believe that I'm finally going to have a real wedding," Terri chirps knowing that she didn't get one when she eloped.

Then Jackie turns to you with an annoyed look. "Gerald Duncan. What are you doing here? You know it's bad luck to see your bride on her wedding day." She walks to the door and opens it. "Now go get yourself ready and pretend none of this happened."

"Yes, Mom," you say and give her a kiss on the cheek as you walk out still a bit nervous and concerned as the door closes.

At least now you feel comfortable that you all have a plan, and you trust Terri who's always been good at planning. In fact, she planned most of the wedding and the honeymoon so neither you or Jackie had much to worry about. She's been like a sister to Jackie and a great friend and confidant to you as well. In fact if she wasn't Jackie's mom and was a tad younger, you may have made a play for her. You only wish she could find someone to be with and as happy as Jackie.

You smile dreamily but also wonder what you'll be able to do about this switch. Hopefully, there is some way of finding out where the orb came from and what it's full capabilities are. Maybe it only lasts for an hour or a day even if it's broken. You assume Terri has sense enough to gather all the pieces just in case, but you almost go back and knock on the door to be sure. However, just then your best friend, and also your Best Man, grabs you by the arm.

"Hey, Gerry," he says. "Don't go trying to see the bride before the ceremony. You know that's bad luck."

"Oh, yeah."

"Come on. It's time to get ready anyway."

With that he hauls you off to another room where all tuxes are waiting and starts kidding you about honeymooning in Door County peninsula of Wisconsin instead of some tropical island or fancy show place like Las Vegas.

"You know we both just want some quiet time and enjoy the slower life," you tell him. "Terri has always talked about what a great place it sounds like and has wanted to go there. Jackie and I just have to go see for ourselves."

"Oh, yeah," he chides and winks at you. "Not like you need to spend lots of time out and about, heh?" and he elbows you about what he's implying.

You blush and start discussing the many women in his life and when he'll ever settle down. Soon you've completely forgotten the earlier incident, and the rest of the groomsmen arrive keeping you focused on the ceremony details and kidding you not to forget to say the right words. They also remind you to make sure you give a very long kiss at the end like you promised them.

As you reaffirm your agreement, you remember who it is that you will be kissing. You didn't tell Jackie what you planned to do but knew she would go along; and with your agreement with the guys, you're really stuck. Hopefully, neither Terri or Jackie will be upset with you. You're finding yourself feeling rather guilty but also a bit excited about kissing Terri even if she is in Jackie's body. There's also the reception and first dance to get through with even more kisses expected. You start to get nervous at these thoughts although everyone believes it's just wedding jitters.
