This choice: Continue to the meeting. • Go Back...Chapter #6Initiation by: Unknown The streets are quiet as you leave your house, dressed all in black, your jacket hood obscuring your face. You told your parents you had been invited to a party and would be back by eleven. You walk through the dark streets, keeping to the shadows as much as possible.
You reach the school, where Luke is waiting, dressed much the same as you. “Were you followed?” He asks. You shake your head. Luke motions for you to follow, and he leads you through town for several
minutes before coming to a forest.
“Where exactly are we going?” You ask. “Our headquarters.” Says Luke. “You’re not officially a member yet, so you’ll have to be initiated first.” “What exactly does this initiation involve?” “You’ll see.”
After hiking for several minutes, you come to a small clearing in the trees. Luke reaches down and gropes around on the ground for something. He lifts up, opening trapdoor in the ground leading to a staircase. You follow him down the stairs into what looks to be an abandoned mine. Luke suddenly grabs your hand.
“You better hold onto me.” He says. “I know you humans can’t see in the dark.” He leads you down the pitch-black tunnel to a chamber illuminated by lanterns. About fifty furries of various species stood in a square formation in the center of the room, half of them your had to be around age, the rest were adults. At the head of the group was a furry that wore a blank, plain white mask over his face, but you could tell by the shape of the mask he was a feline. Like you and Luke, everybody in the room wore black.
“Welcome.” Said the masked cat. The must have been a voice modulator in his mask, because his voice reminded you of Darth Vader. “ My name is not important, but you may simply call me X. You are the first human to join the United Males Army. Only two things are required of you, a pledge of loyalty to our cause, and proof of that loyalty. Do you accept these terms?”
You nodded. “Then repeat after me.” X clenched his fist and placed it over his heart, you did the same. X began reciting the pledge, and you repeated him after each line.
I solemnly swear from here on out
I will fight for the freedom of all male-kind
I will do what is necessary
To achieve our goal
And instill our supremacy
Even to my last breath
After you finished the pledge, the other furries in the room placed their fists over their hearts in salute. “Now, all that remains is for you to prove your loyalty.” Said X. Just then two ther UMA members, a wolf and a tiger, enter the room, dragging an unconcious female with a black bag over her head. “We found this one snooping around in the tunnels.” Said the wolf. “Probably trying to spy on us.”
Even though you couldn’t see his face, you could tell X was smiling. “Perfect.” X handed you a pistol as the wolf and tiger tied the bagged female to a chair as she began to wake. “This shall be your test.” Said X. “Execute her, and prove your loyalty to the cause.”
You stared down at the gun in your hand in disbelief. Were they serious?! They wanted you to kill her?! You thought they were going to be a political group, you had no idea you were getting involved with a bunch of terrorists!
“Why are you hesitating?” Said X in a deadly voice. “Do it!” You did swear to do as necessary, and you get the feeling if you don’t do it, they’ll kill you instead. Good God, what have you gotten yourself into?
You aim the gun with trembling hands, shakily aiming for the captive female’s forehead. Just close you eyes before you squeeze, you think, that way you won’t have to see it. But as the wolf takes the bag off of the captive’s head, your heart sinks.
