You decided to go to the store to pick up a new cat, excited for it to not just be you in your apartment. A tall man brings you over to a area in the back of the store, telling you that these cats needed to go soon or they’d be sent..elsewhere.
“Why do they need to go soon? Couldn’t you find any owners?”

“Sadly, no. These little fur balls keep getting returned only a while after they’re bought. We’re hoping that we can get at least one of them to a new home.”
