Chapter #4

When Will Luffy Learn?

    by: chaos Author IconMail Icon
Two years apart had changed the Straw Hat Pirates in many different ways. They were all stronger, their personalities growing along with their ability to fight for their dreams. Separated from each other every one of them had to learn a little about themselves as they trained themselves to get stronger. They became better people in some cases like Ussop gained more courage and Chopper gained more self-confidence. For Luffy however all that grew was his strength, he was still the exact same immature, idiot he was two years ago. Take for example what he was doing right now.

“Why do Nami and Robin have so much boring stuff?”

Luffy tossed a pair of Nami’s panties behind his back as he searched through her things. The crew had gotten back together on Sabaody Archipelago as planned, but before they began to the Fishman Island they stopped at a small island not too far to pick up some supplies for the journey. They had docked the ship behinds some rocks and after a game of straws, Luffy was selected to watch the ship. Left alone, the bored captain was going through everyone’s things like a bored five year old and was now going through the only female crewmember’s belongings. The simple fact that he was invading his friend’s privacy was lost on Luffy as was the entertainment value most men would get out of fondling girl’s underwear.

“Don’t Nami or Robin have any cool toys or something, they don’t even have any candy I can eat. I thought girls hid candy,” Luffy pouted as he emptied both girl’s belonging into a big pile. All he saw were clothes and other junk like books and map writing equipment. Luffy saw nothing that interested him and he was ready to leave, maybe go through Sanji’s stuff and see if he had any food stashed away, when he spotted something glittering in the pile of stuff. Luffy reached into the pile and pulled out a glistening amulet with a big red ruby in the middle. His eyes widened at the sight of the treasure. The two things Luffy loved most in life were adventure and food, but as a pirate, he was obligated to be fascinated by treasure.

Turning the amulet over in his hand, he stared at the strange inscription on the back in those weird words that Robin understood. The amulet probably belonged t her, but it could be Nami, it wasn’t that odd to find the orange haired thief with treasure. Didn’t matter too much to Luffy too much who it belonged to, it was a nice piece of treasure, probably worth a couple million berries. It was kind of surprising that whichever girl owned it hadn’t put it somewhere safer. They probably thought that no one in the crew would go through their things. Luffy was starting to wonder if looking through everything his friends owned was a mistake as he lifted the amulet up over his head to look at with better lighting.

CRACK!

“Oops,” was all Luffy could say when the amulet slipped from his rubber fingers and dropped to the floor. He wasn’t paying attention or he would have caught it, instead it landed on the floor, shattering like glass as it hit the wooden ground. Staring at the hundred broken pieces, Luffy’s face dropped as he realized how much trouble he was going to be in. If that was Nami she was going to kill him and if it was Robin well…Shudder….

“Maybe they won’t notice!” Luffy laughed as he turned away, missing the red mist coming from the broken amulet. He muttered to himself in a vain attempt to believe that the owner of the priceless looking treasure wouldn’t notice it missing as the mist surrounded him. When his body started to shudder, Luffy just put his hand over his stomach thinking it was his stomach rumbling for his next meal. Knowing there was nothing he could do, he tried to leave, not even bothering to hide the evidence. He started walking towards the door, but as he moved he found the door getting bigger and further away. Confused he walked faster, but the door continued to move back and get larger. Luffy ran towards the door as it got huge, looming hundreds of feet over him and a hundred times further away then he started. He had no clue what was happening until he looked around and saw everything else in the room just as big.

“Awesome! Franky got the Thousand Sunny to grow!”

Luffy attributed the sudden increase in the size of everything to the engineering skills of his shipwright. The fact that everything from Nami and Robin’s stuff to the dust mites under their beds were bigger were all ignored by Luffy who believed that Franky had somehow made it possible for the Thousand Sunny to become a hundred times bigger. With his eyes gleaming with excitement, Luffy was already trying to figure out how his crew was going to steer the giant ship when the ground began to shake. Luffy stumbled around as he looked for the cause of the trembling and found his answer as the door to the room swung open and a large boot stomped into the room.

Luffy had to crane his head way back, looking past a pair of breast that stuck out like two mountains. At first, he thought he was seeing a giant, maybe the biggest giant he had ever seen, but he recognized her and his immature mind slowly began to unravel the mystery of why everything was so much bigger. As he was figuring it out, the female was looking at the floor, but her eyes weren’t on Luffy. Instinctively, Luffy flinched at the sound of a loud, angry woman.

“My Amulet!”
