...Felt her stomach rubble, urgh, she shouldn't be this hungry this early in the day. For a while, Katie tried to ignore her gut, but within a few minutes it was almost unbearable, and she was forced to give in and head for the nearest source of food, which happened to be a McDonalds. Normally, she'd have steered clear of such a place, but right now the hunger pangs were just too great, so she went in instead.
It was an agonising few minutes wait, but eventually Katie was at the front of the queue, and the girl behind the counter asked, "what would you like?"
Just a filet-o-fish, Katie thought, but somehow it came out as, "A Big Mac thanks." Suddenly, alarm bells started ringing in her head, I don't want that, I can't possibly finish-
"And would you like anything else," the girl asked.
No! though Katie, but again, her mouth seemed to have a mind of its own, "sure, large fries, large coke and a fudge sundae thanks." Before she'd even reached the end of the order she'd zoned out, coming to only when her body, apparently operating on automatic, put the loaded tray down on the table, and seated itself in the booth. Surveying the food, she suddenly felt a touch queasy, there was no way she could finish even the burger, let alone the other stuff. The concerns weren't taken up by the rest of her though, as her body, still intent on doing its own thing, began the meal with gusto.
Katie wasn't normally one to count calories, but she was doing so now, and the numbers were just too big. This didn't seem to concern her body though, which had slowed noticeably since the beginning of the meal, but still seemed intent of finishing every last morsel, which it did, though not before the 20 minute mark. Finally, once the meal was over, whatever had been holding her body in its gluttonous sway finally vanished, though this wasn't much of a comfort, since the size of the meal was such that she couldn't do much more than sit there and rub her over-full stomach, and wonder just what the heck had come over her.
After a few minutes, Katie was finally comfortable enough that she could get up, and so she did, and headed straight for the ladies room, hoping she could purge what she'd just eaten. The hope was quickly dashed though, no matter how much she tried, she couldn't get a single morsel of her meal to come back up. Afterwards, she decided to return home, partly so she could put the statue away, and partly so that she could try to figure out what on earth was going on.

Katie could sense a subtle wrongness the moment she stepped in the door, but couldn't put her finger on it just at the moment. Going to her bedroom, she cleared some room on the dresser for the statue, and then went down to get some antacids. Taking a couple of pills, she went into the kitchen, meaning only to get a glass of water, but her body, again with a mind of its own, opened the cupboard to grab a jumbo packet of potato chips, then hesitated, that shouldn't be there!. She, or rather, her body didn't hesitate for long though, grabbed the bag, and a bottle of coke out of the fridge, and loafed down on the sofa and clicked on the TV. As her body opened the bag, she zoned out again.
