...Spotted a bit of paper blowing around. Cursing at whoever had been careless enough not to put their rubbish in a bin properly, Katie was about to screw it up when she realised it was a five dollar bill. She glanced around to see if anyone was chasing it, and, spotting no-one there, shoved it in her handbag.
A few minutes later, Katie was passing by a lot bookshop. Normally she'd have passed right by it, but then she remembered the bill she'd just picked up, and decided to chance her luck with a couple of scratchcards. Picking 3 cards at random, she stood at the booth and scratched, the first card was a bust, the second got her all of another five bucks, but the last...It took her a moment to realise it, but when she did she almost yahooed, she'd never won a damn thing out of any competition before, and now she'd won a thousand bucks!
Smiling beatifically as she stepped out of the shop, Katie decided to treat herself, after all, she may have just spent eighty bucks on that statue, but it had sure paid off. Stepping out of the shop, she spotted a cancer-society charity stall, normally she wouldn't have bother with such, sure medical research was expensive, but the FDA was funding them wasn't it? Still, she'd just won big, so why not give some away. Pulling out her purse though, she was dismayed to find a real gap in her small-change she had just over half-a-buck in nickels and dimes, and then nothing right up to a lone twenty-buck note and some fifty-bucks. Pity, she wouldn't have minded giving as few bucks, but a whole twenty-note was a bit much really...
