Heather successfully made it to the fence without getting caught, and quickly climbed over the fence. Now she was in the woman's backyard. The clothesline was in the center.
Before going any further, she checked the area. As far as she could tell, there was no one around. She went over to the clothesline. There were several clothing options she had to choose from. She picked something that provided the most cover... a T-shirt and jeans. Heather planned to "borrow" the clothes, get a neighbor to let her use their phone so she could call a locksmith, get back into her house, change into her own clothes, and then bring back the clothes she took, without the woman ever knowing they were missing.
That was the plan.
Heather first put on the shirt. Then as she was putting the jeans on, something poked her in the back. She didn't look to see what it was, but she was sure it was a gun. She was right.
"Don't move," said the person holding the gun, who was the old lady.
