"Not at all." You admit what you just saw terrified you, but you tried to keep your head as best you could. "It's..." You aren't sure what to say but you find yourself wanting to reassure her. "You look gorgeous." Alice did in fact look stunning, inhuman sure but incredibly attractive. Given what she was you probably wouldn't have expected anything less.
"So um... a succubus." You said uncertainly. "You eat men's souls then?" If you weren't so weirded out by the whole situation the prospect would've scared you, but you just felt sort of numb after all the bizarre things you've gone through. "Um... yeah." Alice admits. "I'm sorry... I... I kinda... took a nibble?"
"What!?" You almost bolt out of there right then, but something keeps you sitting on the bed. Maybe it was the look of utter shame on her face. "I shouldn't have done it! I was just curious. You're not one of the ones I'm supposed to eat!" You looked at her oddly at that. "'Supposed to eat?' What does that mean?"
"Well I... it's my job to find sexual deviants and eat them. Men who sexually harass women, men who rape women..." Alice considers for a moment. "Okay, women that are like that I've eaten occasionally too. But that's more the job of the Incubi." Alice admits. "My sisters and I find those people, seduce them, and then devour their souls so they go to Hell before they hurt anyone else."
You weren't sure she was telling the truth, but you didn't press. "Sisters?" You said trying to make conversation, still fighting the urge to just head for the hills. The question seemed to cheer Alice up a bit. "Oh yeah! I've got 3" She stopped and seemed to be pondering as her hands seemed to be trying to work something out. "thousand sisters. About 2 thousand brothers too. And I've got so many aunts, uncles, and cousins you have no idea." She finished.
Your eyes shot open. "That many?" You almost forget the situation after hearing that little tidbit. "Yeah-huh!" Alice smiled. "Oh right, that's a lot for humans isn't it?" She noted. "All of us are only about 4 generations, there's about... oh... 23 million of us altogether." She explained.
23 million?! "Only 4 generations... wow." You think about it. "That's a lot." Stupidly that's all you can manage to say. "It's not enough." Alice said. "We've got to do our jobs for all of mankind. You have no idea how many rapists there would be out there without us. And without bond mates we can't..." Alice suddenly clams up.
You tried to process what she was telling you. "Okay. Give me a second here... You're a mythological demon, policing all of mankind, and you eat souls to survive, and you have really BIG families. Am I following so far?" Alice shakes her head no. "Not exactly? Demons don't need to eat souls to live. Eating the feelings is good enough for that. In our case lust will do the trick." She said.
Something occurred to you and you remembered her deep red glowing eyes. "Were you trying to control me or something?" You asked. "Um... yeah. After the first date I checked if you were innocent. If you weren't you couldn't have resisted it."
"Ryan? Do you mind if I..." Alice seems embarrassed to ask. "I'm getting kind of hungry..."
