Chapter #2

The Bookstore

by: Digital Warrior Author IconMail Icon
You liked reading in your spare time, but this summer has been so boring so far, that's all you have been doing in your spare time. You don't have that many books around the house, it made sense to look around the bookstore. You looked around past all the romance, graphic novels, and science fiction into the....spell section? You were intrigued that there was a whole section of this, especially since magic wasn't real. All the books looked worn out and torn up a bit. Was this a bookstore actually a store or a pawn shop?

None of the books seemed to catch your eye....except for one book. All of the carvings and detail on the cover was so beautiful. You were certain to buy this book, especially with the sticker that marked it 60% off. You went up to the counter to pay the book. The cashier put the book in a plastic bag and handed it to you, when you heard a familiar voice from behind you. "Hey, I thought I saw you."

You turned around and saw the man you secretly have a crush on. "Oh, hi Bryce. What're you doing here?"

"I got bored. I just came to the mall to see what all the fuss was about. Nothing's really impressed me so far though. What're you doing here?"

"Same. I don't see much to do here either. Though I'd go back home and take a swim later." You said the last sentence in importance, hoping to hear a certain question from him.

"Mind if I come over today? There's just nothing to do today." YES! He's coming over.

"Of course I don't mind. Just get your swim suit and come over." You both exited the bookshop as he glanced at the plastic bag you were holding.

"So, what book did you get anyway." You felt so foolish right now! For some reason, the book was so intrigued to you, you didn't even look on the spine to see what the book was called. It was like, a force urged you to buy it. You pulled the book out of the bag and read the title.
