Alan was an average 18-year-old wolf. He liked was all guys liked: sports, video games, girls, etc. Alan tried to get people to notice him and trying to like him but people never saw past his appearance. He was really scrawny for someone his age. He was 5 foot 7 with twigs for arms and legs. He was constantly rejected from everyone in school. No one wanted to be with a tiny guy like him. Alan's dream was for someone to at least look at him and take the time to know him. However, it seemed that dream would never come true.
One night, Alan wasted his time like he always does by watching TV and surfing the Web in his dorm. He felt they were his only escape from the real world. Although he liked doing these things, he would love to escape into the real world and see what it had to offer it for him. The only thing he knew about it was that it was cruel to those that don't look the part. Alan wanted to reject the world for rejecting him but he knew that would be impossible. All of Alan's thoughts and life shortly changed after taking one glimpse of the moon from his window.
Alan raised his head out of boredom, tired of doing the same thing every night. He turned his head to the window and caught a glimpse of the moon. He saw that it was full but there was something more to it. Alan felt compelled by it. He didn't know why, but he simply had to go outside and get a better look at it. He left his dorm and walked to the deserted center of the campus. As he looked at it, Alan couldn't help but admire the full moon that was out that night. It was luminous, round, and beautiful. The majesty of the moon overtook Alan's brain. He also loved how the moonlight was shining against his fur.
Alan stood on campus for several minutes simply adoring the moon with no idea why. He then felt weird all of a sudden. A knot in his stomach appeared without warning. It made him feel nauseous but there was also a hint a euphemism in it. Alan didn't know if he was getting sick or he overwhelmed by the sight. Before Alan could figure it out, he started to get a tingle all over his body. Little did he know his thoughts on life were about to change.
