"Will your mother be able to fix it?" you ask. "You said she's a witch too."
"Yeah." she says. "But she'll be mad."
"Well we can't leave Daniel like this." you insist.
"Okay." Sandra looks around then reluctantly clicks her fingers.
The world around you suddenly changes. Instead of the cinema carpark you, Sandra and Daniel are now in the living room of a large house.
"Mom" Sandra calls out.
"What is it?" her mother comes down stairs. You always wondered how it's possible that she doesn't look older than 30. Now you guess it must be one of the advantages of being able to use magic.
"Mom." Sandra explains. "I tried to use a memory spell and it went wrong."
Sandra's mother looks at Daniel, sitting on the floor in wet pants, sucking his thumb.
"You know memory spells are difficult." She says. "Why did you try one."
"Michael told him that I'm a witch." Sandra informs her. "I had to do something."
"I told you he wasn't ready to know." Her mother says, looking disappointed. "And instead of coming straight to me you try to fix it with a spell which was well beyond your abilities."
"But Mom." Sandra starts.
"I'll deal with you two later." she says. "First let's solve this problem." She clicks her fingers and intelligence returns to Daniel's eyes.
He gets to his feet and looks around. "How did we get here?" then he notices his pants. "Did I piss myself?"
With another click, the wet spot on Daniel's jeans disappears.
"Where did you cast the spell?" Sandra's mother asks, ignoring Daniel.
"At the cinema." You reply.
She clicks her fingers again and Daniel disappears. "There, he won't remember that you're a witch and he won't remember being here."
"Mom" Sandra starts again. "I'm sorry."
"Not sorry enough." Her mother hasn't calmed down. "But you will be." She clicks her fingers again and Sandra quickly shrinks until she becomes a toddler. Her grown-up clothes lay in a pile around her. "You have shown that you aren't responsible enough to have your powers. Maybe in another 17 years you'll be ready for another try."
"No Mommy." Sandra cries. "I don't wanna be a baby."
"Don't worry honey." her mother says. "Michael is going to keep you company. As your twin sister Michelle." She clicks her fingers again and this time you begin to shrink.
Soon you are standing naked, surrounded by your now too-large clothes. Reluctantly you look down and confirm that you are now not only a toddler but a girl. You start to cry too.
"Oh look on the bright side." Sandra's mother tells you. "When you grow up you get to learn magic too."
Your legs begin to feel wet and cold. You look down and turn red when you realise that you are peeing on yourself.
"But I guess that can wait until after you learn to use the potty." She says with a laugh. "I'd better get you two diapered before you ruin my carpet." She reaches down and tries to take you both by the hand. "Come to the nursery."
